I have come here many times, it is my favorite restaurant.
I have developed a love for authentic cultural food, especially Mediterranean.
After coming back from a two week pilgrimage in the Republic of Georgia I craved authenticity, fresh food state side. I have found it here. The price is also very good.
I am Antiochian Eastern Orthodox, so certain days we abstain from certain foods, but I sometimes want to go out after work and relax after a stressful day. They have everything you need.

This place went downhill. I don’t know if it’s new management or employees or what. I ordered 3 meals that the website said comes with 2 sides. I was charged for 2 sides and did not receive the second one. This was detailed on my receipt. The employee that answered the phone was dismissive, blaming the website for malfunctioning on the online order and refused to remedy the situation. If you insist on going to this place, I highly recommend checking your order before you leave just in case you realize they do this to you too and you can get your money back before walking out.

***REAL WHOLE REVIEW***
We have been going to TOJ for five years now, every time we are in Pensacola. We walked in and were shocked at the noticeable change (no longer offering cooler items, limited grocery selection, empty coolers and store cases, and felt pretty dead and sad. We loved when we used to walk in before and felt like part of the family. Someone saying Hi, and making you feel really welcome). However, The waitress said TOJ was under new ownership. Kind of bummed, we decided to stick it out and try it.
It was DELICIOUS!!! I love that they still give the Mezza beforehand of bread, garlic dip, and two others. I’ve been to TOJ and had some dry chicken in the past (never stopped me from going back as it happens). Anticipating the same, I ordered the combo platter with Kafta and chicken. The chicken was tender and tasty. My husband, who is Lebanese, ordered the platter for two and stated how pleasantly surprised he was at how good the food was!
I do appreciate that they serve you real plates now as opposed to paper like they used to.
We will definitely be back! The space could use some love, but give them a shot as it’s a newish turnover. You won’t be disappointed.

We waited about 45 minutes after placing our order, then were told that the chicken had burned and we’d need to wait 5 more minutes. However, nothing changed for the next about 10 minutes, so we left the shop. They didn’t even apologize. Don’t waste your time here.

Very delicious food!! I’m surprised that we didn’t find out about this hidden gem of a place sooner. Very friendly and welcoming employees. Yes, from the outside and inside the premises it may look a little sketchy but it’s all about their products and services that we personally cared about when we visited here. All the previous reviews were not lying when they talked about their tasty dishes. Starting with their baked bread with 5 or 6 different dipping sauces along with meat lover plate, chicken biryani, grill mix were all super tasty. Absolutely everyone in our family enjoyed their food. Their portions are very adequate to their prices and prices are quite reasonable in my opinion as well. They do offer a military discount if you’re veteran or active duty. They also have a butcher shop inside if you want to get Halal meats. And there’s a small grocery store next to it where you can also find some authentic Middle Eastern products. We’re definitely going to be coming back here again next time when we visit Pensacola area. A++

Service was very nice and clean place. Their kabobs were off the chain, and traditional rice dish super tasty. Just like ones I’ve tried overseas. Recommend this place if you want something besides fried chicken and burgers. Also grocery side has some very cool and rare things you don’t normally see. Also candies from Ulker

It was noon when I got there and it was busy. You can tell the dishes are being prepared as people order them.
Gave it a 4 because the hummus wasn’t good. It had weird egaed cheese taste,it was garnished with olive oil and sumac. The olive oil tasted a bit rancid. It was very hard for me to eat it. I spoke with the waitress, and she gladly took it. I was really looking forward to eating some hummus
The waitresses don’t come to ask if there is anything one needs. I was done eating and placed some dishes to the side and was sitting there while they were cleaning the table behind me, walking by without making eye contact nor did they ask if I need a to go box. The picture shows the food I wanted to put in a to go ɓox.

I hate to upload a picture of food that’s already been eaten on, but I do have to say it was so good. I couldn’t wait to take the pic before digging in. I will preface this by saying that we are not from Pensacola. We have never eaten at this restaurant before, so we don’t know how it compares to the previous owners. I say that because we were a little wary going in based on the reviews, comparing them to the previous owners. So not having anything to compare our experience too, I will say that it was excellent! Our server agree and sat at a nice big table. We started with three dips and pita bread. I love the green dip! Spicy! I got the Jerusalem platter. All three of the kebabs were fresh, and the meat on all was tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious. The baba ghanoush was beautifully smoky! The falafel was delicious as was the rice. We enjoyed the chocolate, pistachio, and walnut baklava. Just the right portion sizes! My favorite was the chocolate. It was so good two other members of our family went the next day for lunch on our recommendation. They were not with us the night we went. They loved it as well. I just wanted to put this up because if anyone is reading all this and is intimidated by comparisons, don’t be. I can’t speak to that, but I can say that the next time I’m in Pensacola, I will be going to Taste of Jerusalem. my compliments to the waitress and the chef. Oh, the market was under renovation, so we didn’t get to see that. I can’t wait to shop there, though.

What a treasure to stumble on! Service was nice, restaurant clean and food was prepared fresh and excellent!!! So many dips to try. The diced pepper dip was my favorite! I had the gyro and my husband had the lamb. Both were so good!
