It takes a LOT for me to post, but I’ll never ever go back to taste of Japan in reidsville. The salads they served as an appetizer was MUSH, brown MUSHY lettuce. I didn’t touch mine, when the waitress came and asked if she could take them I said “yeah it was a little too brown for me” she just said “yeah” and walked away. The soup was really oily, I love some chicken broth and it was awful. Finally I got my food and I ordered steak and shrimp, never have I been anywhere they cut my shrimp up into pieces. And the “vegetables” was straight onions with a few carrots mixed it. Just awful. The guy working the register was given cash/change by a lady paying for her food and he asked the lady how much the change was because “he was awful at counting change” and proceeded to say this multiple times… Don’t go here.

This was the last opportunity we will allow Taste of Japan to serve us. We went this past Thursday evening and it was truly awful. The picture of the salad does not show just how wilted the iceberg lettuce was. It is hard to believe the waitress thought it was acceptable and brought it to the table. The food was purely average if not below average. It was not worth near the $60.00 we paid. The shrimp is typically cooked past well done. The rice stay on the grill so long that it is burnt and too crunchy to chew. The vegetables sit in a chaffing dish so long you have to wonder if they are left over from the day before. On top of that the waitress never once returned to our table after bring our food out. We never got refills on our drinks. Be warned…you will be wasting your money. From now on we will head to Greensboro and spend $30 more and a true Japanese steak house dining experience.

If you don’t know what authentic Japanese food is like, it might be okay. I have NEVER had miso soup like that, the fried rice is just soy sauced rice, the rolls are barely held together, and for such low quality it was way overpriced. I’m not sorry I tried it, but I won’t be back.

Over priced not good save your money. The Japanese food truck in reidsville is better than this place and half the price. I paid $14 for this not again. The staff was nice tho. The soup smelled funny and the white sauce was off. The only vegetable that came in my plate was onions i was suppose to get carrots and zucchini but got very little of that.

Ordered the Hibachi chicken and it literally tasted like chicken covered in Turkey gravy. Fried rice is not fried rice. Overall this place is highly disappointing and is DEFINITELY not a taste of Japan.
Miso soup was super salty but was the best out of what we ordered…..definitely not coming here again…

It takes you forever to receive your food. The food is good usually. The steak taste fake and it’s too hard. The service is horrible and it takes you about 30 minutes to receive your drinks Or even to get a menu. My soup had a ton of pepper in it. The manager is not nice where workers and is extremely rude. Workers get paid four dollars an hour after working their butts off. The menu just consist of the same thing over and over again. Don’t recommend. Like I said I love the food but that place is just horrible. It takes 30 minutes to 45 minutes just to receive soup which is already premade in the pot. Seriously I don’t recommend, AT ALL.

Ordered extra shrimp and they did not add it, but charged us. We only went back to this place because my husband didn’t want to drive to Eden since the game was going to be on at 1pm. They told us 15 minutes, when he got there he waited for 20 minutes, the lady that came out forgot some stuff and went back in so he waited 10+ minutes for her to come back out. She forgot the receipt which we use for business purposes so that took an additional 10+ minutes. No apologies were given. When he got back home the food was cold and there were no additional Shrimp. I called there and spoke to a really sweet person, I asked for the manager she stated the manger wasn’t in. I left my name and number and asked her to have the manager call me, the girl called back and told me the manager said I could drive all the way back there to only pick up what should’ve been in my order since they charged me for it. My gas and my time is valuable, so does that sound like the best resolve? This place is overly price and will cut your shrimp up in 14 pieces to make you think you got your full meal, not to mention they load you up with onions and barely any vegetables. They’re cutting corners and making money but not providing adequate food and service.
