Ordered oxtail meal that was $23 and it was all bones, there was barely 4-5 very small pieces of actual oxtail meat, the rest was all bones. The fried chicken was completely soggy and somehow the chicken itself was dry. The jerk chicken and the plantains were also very dry/overcooked. The beef and chicken patties were okay and the dumpling was good. For what we spent on ordering from here, I was not happy to say the least and we won’t be ordering anything from here ever again.

Today I felt like be on the wild side and tried oxtail and curry goat combination. Oh let me tell you I was not disappointed. I’m very indecisive and when I’m hungry. This will definitely be my go to spot whenever I’m visiting Newbritain.

Taste of Jamaica is a small bodega filled with authentic Jamaican spices, herbs, snacks, and more (lots of interesting Jamaican goods). I tried their jerk chicken meal and the flavor was great, the spice blend was perfect. The jerk sauce drizzled on top was good but I just wish they gave more to eat with the rice. Overall a decent jerk chicken meal!

Perhaps if she were more friendly, she could have guided me in exploring something a little different than what I’ve eaten from the catering trucks.
By not being friendly and approachable, you are missing out on other potential sales and business. That is basic customer service 101…

Awful. Oxtail barely seasoned, cabbage taste like water, plaintain confused some pieces mush and some extremely hard and dry, Mac&cheese has no flavor. Extremely extremely disappointed. Coco bread was good though lol I’ll keep that but it’s also prepackaged ♀️.

I ordered brown stewed chicken. Food tast good but VERY small portion for what you pay. I also ordered lemon cake . It was only a piece of cake, not a full slice. The size of a small dinner roll.

I can’t speak to service or anything like that, but my wife ordered their chicken soup for me since I was sick. You would think, with the dish being called chicken soup and all… that there would be chicken in it.
You would be wrong.
While the broth tasted nice enough, this feels like a rip of. I got a chicken bone and some chunks of fat. But, last I checked, chicken soup still calls for some actual meat.
