3.3 stars. Clean no-frills restaurant. Simple menu. Fair prices. Chicken Tikka Masala was average. Sauce was thinner than I was hoping for. Naan with cheese and spices was good. All-in for lunch was about $21.

I usually try to steer away from leaving negative reviews on restaurants. But I could not let this go. Last night was the first night that I have had this restaurant. I ordered it on DoorDash. I got the chicken tikka masala, basmati rice, and chicken pakora.
The pakora and the chicken tikka masala were quite spicy. I don’t mind spice if I am expecting it. But on the DoorDash menu it did not indicate that either of those dishes would be spicy, nor did it give me the option to choose a spice level. Which was unusual to me because other Indian restaurants I’ve been to give you that option. Aside from being spicy the food was bland. The only flavor was spice. The basmati rice was also quite dry. I’m willing to admit they could have had an off night last night. But I am quite disheartened that that was my first experience. Based on the reviews I was expecting to have a stellar meal and instead was quite disappointed. It makes me sad because there were quite a few things on their menu that I was also interested in trying, but as a result of my experience I will not be going back. I feel as if I wasted my money. I was let down to the point that I was not able to finish the food I ordered.
I’m sad that I did not get to experience the great food that so many others have been able to enjoy.

Taste of India is a hidden gem. The interior is clean and modern. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are good and the menu is scattered with specials. The food, that is where they shine the most. I had the lunch special with Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Vindaloo, and Tandoori Chicken. I also added Samosas. Everything was wonderful and fresh. I will be back.

Already planning our next visit. Taste of India in Norman is a must try. Four of us dined in and all ordered various dishes of various levels of heat. We were all very happy with the service, serving size, flavor, and price. I know from experience the Saagwala level 6 will have your partner calling you “hot lips.” My boyfriend ordered and loved it! I stuck with 2 on the spice level and was very pleased. When I doubt, start low and get more spice on the side. I recommend Taste of India to anyone passing through Norman or willing to drive for great food!

I LOVE the malai kofta. It is my favorite. I also enjoy the vegetarian appetizer platter. I’m not a vegetarian, but I had the regular Appetizer platter once, and did not like the meat In it. (The tikona) THE sauces that accompany the appetizer platter are also really good.. The paneer Shahi Korma and saag paneer are also excellent choices. I always get extra naan and sometimes the cucumber salad and mango lassi. I had their tandoori chicken and it wasn’t my favorite this time. But I had the tandoori Mixed grill in the past and really enjoyed it, so maybe it was an off day. But I seriously crave the malai kofta, very often, and must go get it when I finally can’t take it any longer, like tonight, I’m writing this while eating and floating on a happy food cloud. The ambiance, well, it’s too bright for me, so I always get it to go, but this is my go to for Indian in Norman.

Went in for the buffet but was disappointed they did not have lunch buffets anymore, but they did have lunch specials. Tried the lunch special with the options provided. Food came out hot and with an amazing aroma but it took a bit longer than I expected. All items selected were amazing. The spices and flavors were excellent. The waitress was courteous, attentive, and helpful. Inside was nice and they had one TV with sports on. Inside was clean and they had older style booths and tables for dining. The lunch special I got was very filling and tasty. Overall I enjoyed dining here.

Came in to pick up a DoorDash order. Was told it was getting bagged. Employee brought food out which I would obviously assume is mine, mumbled at me, then berated me after I tried grabbing the food he sat down because it was for someone else versus making that clear to me. Super rude. The restaurant is also incredibly stinky. I would never recommend eating here given how nasty the employees are to their couriers.

Truly fantastic food at a reasonable enough price. I really love their food. However, ordering online can be such a pain because they’ll give you a 25 minute estimate and then you end up waiting an additional 30-40 minutes on top of that original 25. It would be one thing if there was communication as I wait for my order or at least some sort acknowledgement of these mishaps but neither of those things occur.

Ordered online. The food is meh- but that’s not the issue. They charged me 11 dollars extra for no reason. No change was made to my order, despite them stating there was. Scamming in this economy? Disgusting.
Mind you, I already paid 85 originally- already a large amount. So charging me 96 due to greed is shameful. Used to be a returning customer, not anymore 🙁
