My boyfriend and I was looking somewhere new to eat in Sanford. He found A Taste of India while searching online. He called to see if they were open. They were actually closing but he said that they would stay open for us since we were close by. ( That was awesome customer service ) The waitress and the owner are so SUPER nice! She took the time to go over the menu and explain the different foods & made some great suggestions. The food is made to order so everything is ALWAYS fresh & hot. The owner came out after we got the food to ask us how everything was. We came back on Monday for lunch to try the buffet. Once again everything was awesome. The owner brought us out some naan and oh my gosh , it was to die for. This place is AMAZING and def worth a try. You will be back for sure!

This restaurant is amazing and a great addition to Sanford’s come up. We had the Rosemary cheese naan, lamb madras, beef vindaloo, garlic coconut shrimp, and gulag jamun (carrot pudding) try it out. Just remember hot is HOT, everyday from 11-230 buffet

This was my first time having Indian food, and it was delicious. I had the butter chicken along with some garlic naan bread. We had came in early the day before Thanksgiving so the restaurant was empty but we enjoyed the atmosphere. I was pretty impressed by the menus which contained photos of some or most of the meals, this gives good insight to first timers or even those who would like to venture in their food experience. Our server was humble and very kind. She came a little less than I would’ve liked but the service was good nonetheless. We even had the chef who prepared our food come out and greet us. Overall it was a great experience.

I ordered the chicken Tikka Masala – spicy – and the garlic naan bread and it was delicious! I loved its spices and it had a great kick to it! Of course expect a longer wait time but it’s so worth it. I recommend ordering ahead.

So this is not the first time I have visited a Indian restaurant. I visited the place after seeing the amazing reviews but honestly I was really let down by the place. We visited on Black Friday afternoon and the restaurant had one more family other than us. The service was very slow, it took almost 45 mins for our meals to get served and then we get shrimps curry rather than panned tikka masala. The garlic naan was nice though but the paneer did not taste fresh I did not even like the ambience honestly

Great experience! Just moved here and we’re looking for an Indian spot-this is definitely the one! The owner has great confidence in their food and it’s for a reason! Got mild chicken korma (but realized I would like it spicier) and husband got hot chicken tikka masala. Both were incredible, chicken was slightly dry. Garlic naan was INCREDIBLE! Loved the chai tea as well. Raita yogurt sauce was very fresh. Forgot to ask if they have kachumber. Can’t wait to go back and try more! (Excited to try their dessert menu).

Fiancé enjoyed the food; me- not so much. I’m not sure if it’s the amount of spices, or just spices I’m not used to but I found myself having a hard time to eat and enjoy the food. I tried it on two different occasions and each time I was just not satisfied. The tandoori chicken was delicious I got medium- which was spicy to me (I think that my taste buds are just getting older). The biryani was a no go, the chicken and egg soup (I think) looked as though it had ramen noodles in it. And I’m not sure if i was getting sick or not- but the butter chicken had no flavor to me- the temperature was very hot though! Only reason this is getting 3 stars is because my fiancé essentially enjoyed her food; I would give the restaurant another chance- but I would probably just stick with the tandoori chicken mild. Also, the basmati rice that comes with the tandoori chicken- they can keep it! I do not enjoy it. UPDATE: I’ve tried them again and they were able to be very accommodating (making me rice without all of the spices). I will say that the coconut curry shrimp is DELICIOUS! (Although I had to send my 1st order back because the shrimp were still grey and had not finished cooking in the sauce.)

Ordered butter chicken and Chile chicken. Both were incredible! I was planning on ordering curry, but I saw many reviews raving about the butter chicken and it did not disappoint!

The food is so flavorful and delicious every time. Will definitely be ordering from this place again!! Fair warning, the rosemary naan is loaded with rosemary on the inside…was a bit too much.
