Ideally situated next to the bay, this spot is a short walk to iconic San Diego views and is a convenient five-minute walk from the ferry. The outdoor seating is a major highlight, providing a perfect atmosphere to enjoy their excellent coffee and tea.
While the location is a 10/10, the food was a bit more hit-or-miss. The Caprese Panini was decent, but the internal ingredients felt a bit mushy and lacked the brightness you’d expect from fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. Similarly, the Raspberry Ricotta dessert was pleasant enough, but didn’t quite leave a lasting impression. Come for the views and the caffeine, but there’s room for improvement on the kitchen execution.

Holy smokes what a great experience! Our food was incredible and our server took extra care of us for my wife’s birthday. I forgot her name, I’m so sorry. But we were on the patio from around 12 to 1. Can’t wait to come back.

THE CAKE OF OUR DREAMS ! My wife and I have been coming here for lunch or breakfast since 2010. Everything has been great especially the amazing cakes. However we had been living in Orange Country for the last 3 years until our recent move to La Jolla. IT’S TIME ! Tartine was near the top of out list to revisit so on Saturday we headed here fore lunch. BUT FIRST ! Earlier in the week I phoned through an order for a 6 inch Chocolate Raspberry Silk Torte….probably the most delicious cake anywhere. AND ! It has been more than 3 years since we enjoyed one. We arrived around 11.30am and managed to find a free 2 hour street parking spot very close to the cafe. The place was packed out on the outdoor patio and there were more than a few dogs so it would be indoor dining. We waited at the host desk for a few seconds until a friendly server named Andres said we could grab any clean table inside. We ordered 2 x Lattes with half & half milk with hazelnut syrup and 1 x Ham & Brie Tartine Sandwich to share….we’ve had this delicious sandwich before more than a few times. Nearly all of the tables inside were occupied at this early hour..a good sign of a business that is doing things right. Our lattes arrived promptly and tasted very good…. nice job by our server / barista Andres. Our scrumptious looking lunch sandwich on 2 plates as requested arrived just 5 minutes later. The delicate ham and creamy brie inside the warmed up pillowy baguette tasted fabulous. DESSERT ! Of course we were here in part to pick up our pre-ordered Chocolate Raspberry Silk Torte but that was for later at home. NOW ! We ordered a slice of Espresso Chocolate Truffle Cake…one of the most decadent cakes we have ever tried. SO RICH & DELICIOUS ! This cake is the perfect meld of dark chocolate and rich espresso…it’s a total knockout for the tastebuds. Last time we were here we ran into Jenny who is one of the 3 female owners and Elodie the talented Assistant Pastry Chef. But we have never met Barbara the Head Pastry Chef who was in attendance on this day. I spotted Barbara who was kind enough to pop over and say hi to my wife. On the way to the restroom I peeked into the kitchen and there was Elodie who remembered me from over 3 years ago. And then we asked our server Andres to fetch our cake order which was pre-paid. Later that day we enjoyed small slices of this Made in Heaven cake. AS GOOD AS IT GETS !

This is such a fun place to go. I don’t know how anyone couldn’t love it. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast served all day.
Unbelievable selection of desserts on display, so check them out before you order so you know how much room you’ll need. Or do what we do and get the dessert to go because the meals have generous portions.
I have not been for dinner. Usually get quiche or panini or sandwich for a brunch or lunch. Desserts are fabulous. Great coffee. Eat inside or out. Street parking usually not a problem.

The location of the cafe was extremely close to the oceanfront less than one minute. The outside section was very nice and even inside of you want more quiet.
The cappuccino was really tasty .
If you are a fan of coffee ask to get double shots with oat milk with small cup extra hot . The cake was very delicious. TWO HOURS free car parking in front of the cafe. Thanks for the staff for the kindness and smiles

The food here is amazing! I had the beef stroganoff and it is so tasty, I loved every single bite. I also had the coconut crème brûlée and raspberry scone which were equally as delightful. Would definitely come here again!

Right behind all the restaurants along the Coronado Bay is this hidden gem. This was my favorite restaurant in San Diego throughout my trip here. I had the gnocchi with sausage, complimentary bread and the chocolate mousse cake. All of these meals were fantastic and I’d go back here again if I’m ever in town. Compliments to the chefs!
