I had something different here—vegetarian food, which I rarely order at restaurants since I usually prefer my simple homemade meals. But I was in the mood for something vegetarian and decided to try the mutter paneer. To my surprise, it was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I’m now looking forward to trying more dishes next time!

The food taste is yummy, I loved their chicken pakoras.
I tried chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala and combo kabobs, lamb korma everything tasted good. The quantity is good for the price.
I liked their To Go packing it’s very sustainable.
They even have Beers and Wines.
I would definitely visit this place again.

The food is very good. The service is also good and quick. This is a fastfood style Indian restaurant. You order your found you are given a number and your food is brought to you. The service is fairly quick. You decide how spicy you want your food. The portion is very good for the price. All the items in the menu are less than $20. They have some Indian inspired drinks like mango lemonade. They have lamb and it only adds about $1 to your bill which is excellent. The ambience is good.

The food is flavorful, but it is terribly Americanized. I admit I was craving something more authentic. The chicken tikka masala was basically butter chicken. The drinks were watered down. To make stuff more “hot” they added jalapenos, which still didn’t do the job. I won’t go here again but I recommend people with lower spice levels to definitely give it a try.

Service is fast, food is delicious and in big portions! It closes late so if you were busy and get there after 8pm you are still able to get nice and delicious food.

It’s been a while since we’ve eaten at Tarka’s and that was in Round Rock. This location is just as great as we remembered. My wife got the mild chicken tikka masala plate with no rice, less carbs…. She mistakenly ordered samosa chaat instead of samosas…..a very tasty mistake, we’d get this again, we both loved this and she loved her mild chicken tikka masala. I cautiously ordered the hot chicken tikka masala, they have one level higher spice wise. I loved the hot, got mine with rice on the side, it was tasty. All bets were off when an order of hot buttery, garlicy nan hit the table….keto for both of us went out the window …..pick and choose which carbs are worth falling off the wagon for… we both picked the garlic nan. Very nice people working here.

The ambience is great. They played good selection of music in the restaurant. We actually went here looking for the Indian chai which was just okay. We also got home chicken korma with rice and ordered extra spicy. The extra spice level was a joke for the Indian taste buds. The korma was sweet with some jalapeño chillies added in. Other than that the dish was tasty. We look forward to visiting again.

I am new to the Houston market and am an avid Indian cuisine fanatic. I’ve been a foodie all of my life. In typical fashion Indian cuisine can be very hit and miss. I happened on the Westheimer Road location a little over a month ago, and am now a raving fan. The location is convenient. The store is meticulously clean. The staff friendly. Most importantly? The quality of the food is right on point. The value is fair as well. I’ve been back at least 4-5 times in the last 5 weeks…. This place is amazing.
