Such a cool place! The vibe is prohibition, dark and moody. The food is delicious. Great happy specials. The drinks are yummy! The bartender was awesome. We had the pork belly tacos, charcuterie, popcorn & caprese along with a Brambles cocktail and 2 Long Drinks. The prices were great! $75 for everything.

An absolute gem in Leesburg!
My girlfriends and I went to Tarbender’s Lounge for the first time and had the best night. It’s this very cool little speakeasy tucked away in downtown Leesburg with such a fun, intimate vibe… low lighting, cozy corners, great music — the whole place just feels effortlessly stylish and welcoming. Even the small outdoor patio was just perfect!
The food was delicious, the drinks were strong and well-made (definitely not watered down like other places), and the whole experience felt like a night out done right.
The host/manager/owner (not sure which, maybe all three?) was so welcoming and made us feel right at home.
And Tylor (sp?), our server, a total rockstar! So sweet, professional, and made us feel taken care of the entire night. Honestly one of the best servers we’ve had anywhere.
We had such a great time we’re already planning our next visit!

Phenomenal experience. Great food and drinks! Super fun entrance via phone booth. Our waitress Tyler was incredible! She helped us create custom mocktails, let us move tables when the live music got a little too loud, and was super attentive & friendly. Truly the cherry on top!

My husband and I are fairly new to the area and were looking for something easy and fun to do after dinner on NYE. Tarbender’s fit the bill! The atmosphere was cozy and fun. The drinks were well prepared and even though we didn’t order any food, the entrees we saw coming out looked good. The DJ did a great job energizing patrons, including ourselves. Lastly, we had a wonderful waitress, Tyler. She was very attentive, friendly, and fun! We’ll definitely come back and try the food next time.

Tarbender’s Lounge is a fun speakeasy with a lot to offer. The entrance being a phone booth is a perfect way to accent the fun environment inside. It is a busy place, so I recommend a reservation, though their reservation process on their website could use an upgrade. We arrived to find they had our reservation, but had overlooked it, so we had to wait for them to rearrange some tables. I will say after that, I felt the staff tried to make up for the rough start. Everyone we met was friendly and one of our servers showed me the Tiki room and discussed the history of the business. They also have a karaoke lounge in the front by the entrance. The drinks are great. The menu appears slightly limited, so don’t be afraid to order off menu, based on your preferences. We tried several old fashioned. The chili dog is really good…better than I expected. The lobstah mac and cheese really has lobster in it. The prime rib was also delicious.

Very cool little place! Cocktails are very well prepared by knowledgeable bartenders. And….although the menu is small the food is excellent! Lamb chops are delicious! Appetizers are great as well….flatbreads and tuna nachos are really good. Was surprised how good the food was! Will always be a frequent stop for us.

The atmosphere and decor at Tarbender’s is that of a genuine speakeasy. A huge shout out to Tylor, our amazing server. We wanted a warm cocktail and she was so excited to accommodate us. She and the mixologist came up with two imaginative warm cocktails for us. They were delicious. Kudos to Tylor and the wonderful staff at Tarbender’s.

Stumbled upon this gem of a place and it was just the best kind of surprise.
This speakeasy is tucked away inside a gelato shop on a popular street of Leesburg downtown. The ambience is moody, dim yet charming. The menu is polished and the items seem delicious.
The owner and also our bartender, Paul, was an amazing host and made us great cocktails. They take a lot of pride in making some of their own bitters and syrups from scratch and rightly so, because we loved their old fashions both off of the menu and Dealer’s Choice.
Paul filled us in on all the events that take place there every week, and we’d definitely be back for Thursday Karaoke nights, brunch and dinner, all of it!

By far my favorite place in Virginia! As soon as you enter the phone booth (it’s a speakeasy) it feels like you’re entering a whole new world. Dimly lit and filled with antique decor reminiscent of prohibition times, you’d forget it was 2025. The cocktail menu has a little bit for everyone and they take no shortcuts. The bartender said they make all of their own ingredients from scratch which is a HUGE win for me! (I can’t stand “bars” that buy overly sweetened purées and sour mixes )
We split the wagyu burger and the prime rib special. Both were smashing, I probably could’ve eaten another round despite being so full already. Just perfect.
The owner, Paul, is a stand up dude. He stopped by our table to check in on us and learned it was our first time there. He briefed us on all the fun events they have (live music every weekend and brunch coming soon!) and you could tell just by the way he talks, he pours his heart and soul into this place, a rare find these days.
Tarbenders is my new go to spot, definitely going to be hosting my next event in the speakeasy!
