Having eaten at many Thai restaurants I didn’t know what to expect with Tara. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the drunken noodles. The portion was more than I could eat at one sitting and they were amazing. They had just enough chili heat for the spicy but not so much that you were uncomfortable. I also had the Thai iced tea which was so good. It is a busy place and seating is limited, but definitely would recommend.

Came in during the lunch rush to sit down and enjoy a meal here for the first time. They lost our order in the rush so we didn’t get our food for 30 minutes. However the atmosphere of the restaurant kept us fully entertained. Once our food was delivered, the chef personally delivered a authentic cake for free due to the inconvenience. This was completely unnecessary. Not to mention the food that we ordered was AMAZING! The staff seemed very hardworking and very accommodating. I would come back again and again. If you are looking for a great Thai restaurant, Tara is the place!

Potstickers were average, not bad, not awesome, but the egg rolls were some of the best I’ve had, so it evened out. The star, by far, was the Basil Fried Rice (w/shrimp). I’ve only had this once before, in Colorado Springs, so when I saw they had it here, I had to try it, just in case it was as good. This gave me a new benchmark going forward. It was excellent, in every way it could have been. I will be back to try some of the other dishes, and I am not kidding when I say that I will probably make the 6 hour drive just to eat here at least a few times between my usual scheduled stops up this way.

We ordered and paid before we sat down. I ordered Chicken Cashew. When it came I had few bites and let my husband taste it. He said there is shrimp in there. I am allergic to shrimp. The manager came over, she said they put Shrimp sauce in a lot of dishes. She was rude and informed us she does not need to tell people that. She say said the law only required her to mention egg and nut allergies. I am leaving a bad review because she was so rude. If you have a shrimp or shellfish allergy, do not eat at this place. Wow, had the shrimp pad thai and side of fried rice, and it was amazeballs. Hot and spicy, since I order it like that, and craft beer on tap… hit that spot guys. Thanks for a great plate and if it stays like this I can’t wait to see how it is in the future. Good job guys.

Pad thai is great , savory and always taste fresh. Drunken noodles are spicy and delicious. This is my favorite place to get pad Thai between Bemdiji and Duluth . We make a point to eat here when we are in town.
