I spent 71 years in San Diego, CA & Tempe, AZ… I know Mexican food… and I cook my own Mexican food. I’ve visited Taquito Time twice now… both were just quick drive throughs with a limited order to test a few items. First were Street Tacos Al Pastor…second were the Street Tacos Chicken. Both were traditionally made and very tasty! I will follow up with other items off their interesting menu and start including photos.
03/04/25 – This morning I tried one of my favorite breakfast items… Chilaquiles. Served with red or green sauce + fried eggs + rice & beans. Again authentic & delicious!
06/27/25 – This afternoon I tried their Nachos w/ Carne Asada… surprised that the tortilla chips were store bought type… round discs, but the toppings, sour cream, and 2 types of hot sauce made up for it. In addition, I had 2 Street Tacos Pastor… WOW! Fantastic and the grilled onions took it to a whole new level! The pineapple/passion fruit drink was terrific!
11/07/25 – welcomed today by a new menu! Birria Pozole was added to the menu so I ordered it quickly. Larger bowl than expected… loaded with Birria. Plenty of condiments to add including either tostadas or tortilla chips. It was an exceptional!
12/22/25 – I’m back! I love mole but never seen it used like this! This ChilQuit Mole was fantastic… fried eggs, rice, & sliced avocado put it over the top! Pastor Tacos terrific as always!
02/03/26 – We meet again! Felt like eggs this morning so I went with the Chilaquiles Rojas w/ Rice & Beans. Also… threw in Carne & Pollo Street Tacos. All was beautiful to see & delicious to taste! This crew knows what they are doing!

This place is amazing a true hidden gem in Tyler Texas. It is the most authentic Mexican food I have ever had, at least in the US. I had the Beef Gorditas and they blew me away. Beware of the sauces – they are very hot. They also have outdoor seating, a drive-through, and live music. I also got a free mangorita. love this place. Three ppl ate for under $45.00 and we have leftovers!

Finally a taco shop in Tyler Texas! Not your Tex Mex crap real Mexican food! ❤️Not only was the food good but the vibe was so cute, a lot of local army came to eat for lunch and such an awesome diversity of people when I went in. The set up was cute with a party vibe. I got a free Margarita which hit the spot. Thank you will come back again.

This is one of THE BEST Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been too. It has a small Mom & Pops feel to it. The food was Delicious & the wait wasn’t that long. Will definitely Recommend this place to my friends. An will come here again when I’m back in town.

I was disappointed to say the least. Everyone said this was authentic Mexican food yet I got street tacos and added cheese and it is some sort of cheddar cheese. Authentic would indicate Oaxaca or Cotija or queso fresco. also, Crema, not regular sour cream. So is it partially authentic, yes, but there are other places in Tyler that serve actual authentic Mexican that I will return to. The elotes is very good.

I had gotten two tortas( one for me, one for my coworker), and then 3 tacos. Me and my coworker both agreed on the tortas being amazing and how soft and delicious the bread was. The one downside was the tacos, they were dry and didn’t have much flavor to them(even with a lime). Overall i give this place an 8/10. Thank you for a good lunch break .

Traveling from Birmingham to Temple Texas to visit my fav elderly uncle. I needed an Authentic Mexican food meal vs the old standard American faire. Tasty food, great & friendly service, fair prices. Will visit again.
