We came to this restaurant kind of out of the blue after searching the area for a Mexican food spot — and what good luck we had stumbling upon this little hidden gem tucked away in a neighborhood! I’m told it’s been around for quite a while; apparently, there used to be three locations, and this is the one that remains.
The food here is fantastic. The chips and salsa were fresh, crunchy, and full of flavor. The table salsa was thick and delicious with tomatoes, onions, and cilantro — just the right amount of heat without being overpowering.
I ordered the Al Pastor Super Burrito, and my wife had the Al Pastor Super Taco. Both dishes were hot, flavorful, and timed perfectly coming out of the kitchen. We also ordered a small side of rice and beans, which were equally tasty — though I have to admit the beans were really hot, and I managed to burn my mouth a bit because I wasn’t expecting that much heat temperature-wise!
Other than that minor surprise, everything was excellent. The service was friendly and attentive, and I really appreciated the offer of a discount for paying with cash. For about $33, we enjoyed two full plates, drinks, and the side order — a very fair price for the quality and portions.
If you’re anywhere nearby, I’d highly recommend stopping in. This place truly feels like a local treasure.

Comfortable and very friendly spot for great Mexican food. A little loud in the dining room but food and service make it worth a visit! Chimichangas and shrimp fajitas did not disappoint!

Visited this Mexican restaurant and had a great experience! The ambience was warm and inviting, and the staff were super friendly. I tried the vegetarian tacos and a chavela—both were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for a relaxed meal with great vibes!

An old school Mexican restaurant. Chips and salsa and margaritas stand out. We ordered mole enchilada, 2 tacos, chorizo burrito, Chile relleno, fajita shrimp and flan. The flavors were tasty. Service was nice.

Firstly it was about 50 degrees in the restaurant. So cold. The bathroom had graffiti all over it and everything was broken. Don’t even think about a substitution for any of combos. Husband wanted combo with shredded beef taco, she said no. The ONLY item with shredded beef is the chimichanga. Soooo why can’t a taco have shredded beef? I wanted a combo with a side of mole, in case mole wasn’t great then I wouldn’t ruin food. She said no. I got mole enchiladas and sauce was not great was like a red enchiladas sauce…nothing mole about it. Sangria was served in a glass slightly bigg4r than a desert wine glass…no ice. At 5pm I asked if she could turn lights on in room we were in as the rest of the restaurant had lights on….she smiled and said yes….never turned them on. Horrible experience. Will never go back or recommend

Huge dining area. Very clean. During our stay we visited 3 times. The Micheladas were delicious and the food was awesome. We had the green chile enchiladas, chile Colorado, burrito carne asada. They give big portions and you always have leftovers. I love the chips that they make there and their salsa. Can’t rave enough on their food. This is authentic Mexican food.

Had lunch here with a friend today, and the food was fantastic. I ordered chicken enchiladas and they were perfect. Chips and salsa were served quickly after we sat down and salsa was beautifully fresh. Chips were fresh as well. Our server was super friendly, and it was a really nice experience. I’ll definitely go back!

I used to come here a lot in my mid 20’s and coming back now in my late 30’s with my family was nice. My wife tried her first ever “super chavela” and it was a hit, the food was on point, the salsa the provided with the chips was nice and spicy. (I like it hot) My two older boys eat there burritos in about 3 minutes flat, and even my toddler ate most of his food, very rare that happens. I would have given a 5 star rating, but when we walked in we were ignored for about 7 minutes and then we’re rudely asked to sign the sign in sheet at the hostess stand where nobody was standing. Also, our waitress kept disappearing for quite some time in between checking on our table. All and all a good experience overall. I’ll be coming back again.

The food is great here, have been here many times over the last 9 years or so and it will always be a place my partner and I come back to. Our go to orders are the chicken enchiladas (red and green), chimichangas, flautas, carne asada tortas, and ceviche. The chips and salsa are fantastic and they have the best chavelas in town
