I tried this place for the first time when I ordered a fried fish to go about a week and a half ago. Although the fish looked cooked, it was not. I got food poisoning and it is not a pleasant experience as I am still dealing with the symptoms. I do not recommend this place if you’re willing to risk food poisoning.

Not sure why folks don’t love this place. Coming to Houston after 28 years in San Antonio, this place comes as close to that style of food as we’ve found. The flavors are really good, the food is fresh and the folks who serve and wait on you are really really nice and good at what they do.
Really, I prefer this over the big chains as well as any other place we’ve tried after being here for 12+ years.

I used to visit Taqueria Mexico 20 years ago when I worked closer than I do now. I used to love the food then, and I love the food now. The steak was delicious, and the way it was set on top of the fries was perfect, the fries soaked up some of the steak juices perfectly. The salsa with the chips is quite good, but the server brought out to bottles of other salsa, a pink/orange salsa and a green. The pink/orange salsa was outstanding, I can’t even explain the flavor, but I loved it. I need to make it a point to get back to Taqueria Mexico more often.

Great Food and Service, with Hygiene Concerns I recently dined at Taquería México and had a mixed experience. While the food was delicious and the service was excellent, I was disappointed by a hygiene issue. The chef was handling eggs with bare hands, which made me uncomfortable and prevented me from eating the dish. However, aside from this incident, the restaurant delivered flavorful food and provided attentive service. I hope they address the hygiene concern to maintain their high standards.

Best charro beans EVERRRRR. I just wanted a quick lunch. I picked up the taco lunch special. 3 tacos, rice, beans, guacamole, and pico for $11. So much food and it’s so good. I didn’t expect it to be so good
