Taqueria Lupita’s feels like you’ve been transported straight out of Detroit and dropped into ground zero for truly authentic Mexican food. The menudo was rich and comforting, the tacos were outstanding, and the service was just as impressive as the food. Tucked away on an unpretentious Main Street, this spot doesn’t try to be flashy—it just delivers. Easily one of the best Mexican restaurants around, and a reminder that the best meals are often made by those who know! Muy Bueno!

Best authentic food! Just remember, cash only, but they do have a ATM machine.

We just went in for desert.
Had the tres leche and flan. Tres leche was excellent, flan wasn’t the best. Also had horchata, excellent.
Good vibes and nice staff.

This has been my family’s favorite place since I was a kid. We have been coming here for years. However, in recent years it’s been harder to get the family together and we haven’t been here in a while. We showed up yesterday ( on Good Friday) with a party of 16 since they do not take reservations. The waitresses got right on it and started putting tables together and getting chips and salsa with no hesitation. They do still only accept cash and for large parties they do only one bill so be aware of that if coming with a lot of people. However the staff was accommodating and very friendly. The food was delicious. We were able to take pictures even though we had a large party and it is such a small place. No one bothered us or made us feel rushed to leave. Absolutely amazing as always. Thank you so much for all the memories Lupitas.

I went out to this restaurant with 3 friends after autorama. The food was good, but they only accept cash, which made paying for it very difficult. Many people don’t carry much cash on them anymore, and it was not expected and felt unprofessional. On top of this, the bill did not list the names of our items, and we weren’t even allowed to split the bill. As if that wasn’t enough, they charge for just about everything, without any free services. I hope this place can improve, but I likely will not be returning.

We enjoyed our lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted immediately with chips and salsa (only the first round is complimentary) which came with 3 different salsas that were delicious. We ordered an asada quesadilla with rice and whole beans and then 4 tacos with lomo saltado & asada meat with rice and refried beans. I definitely prefer the taste of the whole beans over the refried beans but we enjoyed both of our meals. This is a cash only restaurant so be mindful of that!

I had a nice experience eating dinner at this place. My friend got a quesadilla and the taco dinner and said he loved it. I ordered arroz con pollo and chicken tacos which was really tasty. The guacamole was delicious – just prepare to add your own salt to all the food. (I’d prefer it understated to over salted though!). Staff were friendly and we got our food quickly. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place because it wasn’t extraordinary, but it was solid.

I enjoyed huevos con chorizo (eggs with chorizo) yesterday. The refried beans were good with a little salt, and the rice was perfect. And the huevos con chorizo is one of the best things I have ever eaten. The tortilla chips and salsa served as an appetizer are also very good. They also have a good selection of Jarritos; I had guava. The dining area is nicely decorated, with a distinct Mexican flair. Our waitress was very friendly, and the food was ready quickly. Best of all, the prices are more than reasonable. This was an enjoyable meal that reminded me a lot of the Mexican restaurants in Fresno. I will be back, and I highly recommend that you visit, too!

I heard about this restaurant from YouTube. They supposed to have the best tacos in Mexicantown. The fish I got was excellent but I wasn’t greeted when I first came in like other people. I waited at the counter for a while waiting for the cashier to finish counting money. She didn’t say hello or I will be with you in a moment or nothing. Finally she waited on me and the waitress said hello but it took awhile. The food is great though and the prices are reasonable.
