It is not TexMex and damn sure is not that Californicated excuse for Mexican food. The very nice owner who is from Brownsville, Texas stated “this is authentic, genuine Northern Mexican cuisine.”
So, what is the difference?
North; think carne asada, tacos and burritos with flour tortillas, and beans, vs. South; think ceviche and fish tacos, corn tortillas and mango pineapple salsa.
This little restaurant delivers to the table, some of the best freshest tastiest AND AUTHENTIC Mexican food that I have had. Delicious generous helpings of carne asada on the tacos and overflowing from the torta. Flavorful Charro beans. The guacamole is perfect. Then there are the salsas that looked and tasted like they just came out of the blender, served up with thick crispy, house made tortilla chips. These salsas made the meal. Tasty, spicey, heat!
Newly redecorated suite in this little strip mall. Clean comfortable and friendly service. Food ordered and delivered to your table. Served on Styrofoam and plastic, like a taco truck. Your drink is in a can.
There are 2 other Mexican restaurants in Tahlequah that I recommend, but I will likely be found at Taqueria La Hermosa. It really does beat anything I have had in Muskogee or Tahlequah. I have tried almost all of them.

This place was DELICIOUS! We come into town for business about once a month and this is by far the best restaurant we’ve had in town! The owner was extremely friendly, the tortillas are fresh and homemade (you can tell). Enchiladas were great, quesadillas were great, tacos were great. You can’t go wrong with what you order!

Best authentic Mexican food in Tahlequah! Tortillas are house made, and excellent! Great level of flavor in all the dishes we tried. Street tacos and fideo soup were outstanding. Highly recommend if you are looking for affordably priced, great tasting food in a place with a sweet and caring staff!

The chef was friendly and came to greet patrons. Place was nice and clean, however food was not up to standards. The Al pastor and soup was too salty to take a second bite. Steak was dry and very difficult to eat. The host/waitress seemed uncertain about what is in their food. I would argue the spicy salsa was the only dish that felt somewhat close to Mexican food. This was one of the worst dine-in experience I ever had.

Daughter and I went and it was delicious. But I am white and husband tells me I like all tacos. Lol I went the next day and got him pozole and tacos. And he approves. Will definitely be going back. Owner and staff are very friendly. Restaurant is very clean. Food is fresh. Salsa is HOT!

Everything we ate was delicious. The menudo was tasty. The rice was a little mushy but flavorful. The Charro Beans were outstanding. A bit salty for me, but taste buds differ! Hecha le ganas hermanita! God bless you, your family and your businesses. We’ll be back.

It is SUPER CLEAN inside. Quite possibly one of the cleanest restaurants in Tahlequah. The owner and workers are all extremely sweet and attentive. The Guacamole is FRESH and chunky with sweet onions (I generally dont like raw onions in my Guacamole but these are sweet and not bitter.) I normally get 2 steak tacos (with grilled onions) everything on it, a Mexican coke, and if I have $4-5 in cash I get their AMAZING Tres Leche cake if they have any. The strawberry is my favorite but the raspberry lemon one was divine too. I’ve been starting to visit like twice a week. I highly recommend this place.

This place is wonderful. The service is great. The people are so nice, but the food…..my gosh.
The food is so good here I can’t imagine ever eating Mexican any where else in my life. The tacos are incredible the refried beans are insanely good and they make the quac fresh to order Everytime. If you haven’t ate here you are seriously missing out. I give this place a solid 10 out of 10.

INCREDIBLE. Visiting from Dallas area. Had the steak torta and freshly made guac, chips and salsa. Can’t wait to try rest of menu while I’m in town! Good prices, quick&friendly service, incredibly clean. Loved.
