Be weary of giving this place this place your business. I am big on customer service and also going an extra mile to help out current customers or hopefully future customers. I had to use the restroom next to this business and unfortunately, they did not have anything to dry my hands. I walked out and noticed this woman sitting at this business, and I explained to her that the bathroom did not have anything to wipe my hands with and the hand dryer was broken. I then kindly asked if she would mind if I just got a couple napkins. She gave me a pretty dirty look and said “ I will do it this time, but I don’t usually don’t just give these out to customers.”. Now I can understand if I asked for any enormous amount or if I was rude in anyway. But neither of those things happened. My hands were soaking wet dripping on the floor. I also have a very painful condition in my hands so having to use hot or cold water is pretty excruciating on them. So getting them dry quickly is very important. I looked at her and replied with “well I’m only asking for a couple of napkins, I don’t think that you needed to be rude about that.” I took the napkins and started walking away, and she proceeded to get loud with me and go into detail about how she doesn’t just give these out to customers. I turned around and told her very clearly, that I would not be returning to her business and I have been there a couple times before, but I definitely won’t be using a business that treats me like this. She then got loud again, telling me that she did not care what I did and if I came back or not. I then turned around and looked at her, and I asked if she was the owner or if she just worked there. She said she was the owner. I was shocked. I told her, well an owner should absolutely not be acting like this. It’s also the holidays, you could be a little bit kinder. It’s just napkins. If it was that big of a deal, I could pay for them. She then proceeded to tell me that, that is what the hand dryer is for. Then took her hands and literally showed me how you would use them under a hand dryer. Absolutely uncalled for. So I told her I was going to take a picture and post this on this page and she sure stopped getting loud with me then.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I understand that a lot of people take advantage of small businesses. But there is no way that I would have turned somebody down that was standing there with soaking wet hands and could see they were in need. If I were to give napkins away for free at my business, and I want to make this clear again, she was the owner, I could’ve made this an opportunity to gain a customer or a return customer at this point by offering if there was anything I would like to purchase or to please make sure to come back and visit me, etc.
I just thought I would share this so others knew how some of the customers were treated at this location. I know there’s a lot of people out there like myself that are big on customer service and especially when it’s the owner of a company. If this were just an employee, I really would not have posted. I do believe in supporting local and small businesses, but I will not be supporting this one again.

My wife and I were at the Northwoods Mall today and decided to stop at Taqueria Jalisco for lunch. We assumed it had Mexican offerings but were impressed with the wide selection of options we had in addition to the Mexican menu. We went with the Catfish fillet and we loved it. We met the owner and she was very nice and talked with us and told us a little bit about her business. It was a very good overall experience and we will plan to go back many times in the future. I highly recommend trying Taqueria Jalisco Antojito next time your in the Northwood Mall area.

Proper, authentic Mexican food! It tastes just like what my family makes at home and actually has some kick! The tamales are so good and perfectly made, and their salsa verde and roja is very good. So happy to have good Mexican food after moving to the Midwest.

I usually don’t make reviews but I went to the mall with my family and decided to get some food from this establishment. I ordered a birra taco dinner and the woman asked if I wanted lettuce and cheese or onion and cilantro, I said I wanted onion and cilantro. So I waited in line for 40 mins. There were people that ordered after me and they received their food before me which was a little frustrating. I finally recieved my food but it had lettuce and cheese instead of onion and cilantro. So I kindly informed the woman that it had the wrong toppings and she was so rude about it saying that I ordered the wrong thing and it was my fault. She said she could fix it but it would take a while so I just asked for a refund and she refused the refund and said that it would be a waste of food and that it was all my fault so I kinda had no choice but to wait another 15 mins. I understand things can get busy but being that rude to a paying customer especially when I was really nice about my order. I definitely won’t be coming back.

Personally, think I found my fav Mexican food in the area. Would highly recommend!!! Try it at least once!
Service: Very quick, friendly, attentive.
Food: Beef cheek taco dinner (pictured)
Had a large hibiscus water (not pictured)
Tacos were so flavorful, rice was fluffy and flavorful, beans were a bit different than others but it was so good. All food was warm, and made with love. Portions were sufficient, prices are fair. Hibiscus water was sweet, refreshing and delicious.
10/10 for the first experience!

Phenomenal food. Excellent service. This place has it all. Smaller mall restaurant that serves some of the best Mexican food you can find in Peoria!

Being raised in Mesa AZ, this place is so literally refreshing. The steak and chicken tacos will literally cleanse your pallet with just onion, cilantro, and a bit of cheese. Very important that the meat is fine and crispy and both the chicken and the steak is every time. Get the kids a cheese quesadilla which is very thick and filling and there’s no reason to go anywhere else nearby. Lots of various candies for the kids too.

Staff was friendly. If you want authentic Mexican food this is your place. I ordered tacos al pastor and a horchata. Both were delicious. I usually have to add salsa & cheese to my rice to have flavor but did not have to do that here. Their rice is good as it is. Definitely will be back on my next trip to Peoria.
