Do you like HAIR in your food or drinks? A few years back when they first opened I got a hair in my food. Now, few years later I decide to give it a another chance and I get hair in my drink. To make it worse the drive thru woman didn’t even try to apologize rather she gave me an attitude for letting her know I wanted a new drink. She was trying so hard to look for the hair as if i am lying when i was literally handing the drink over, why would i want it and lie if im giving it back? I was given 2 burritos and charged for 2 when I only asked for 1. Its my fault for not checking my receipt but the price was expected high because everything is Extremely expensive. I tried calling them but theyre phone number doesn’t work you need to pay attention its part of customer service. Be ready for a bad experience and definitely don’t go if its a date or you are looking for a pleasant experience.

i had a bitchy experience with the same said worker who was previously mentioned in a earlier review. Went through the drive thru and 2 cars in front of us crash. The same worker directs us around them and we wait. As we ordered she also rushed us and gave attitude. Mind you we only got 3 things, and she comes up to us to say it’s $58.55. We’re like huh okay, kinda seems off but we’re also starving. She gives us the food and then we ask for a receipt. She gives attitude about us asking and when we get the receipt it’s $48.15. She charged us a whole $10 dollars extra. We should’ve complained but we were just starving. for somebody who grew up coming a lot it’s unfortunate we had to experience this.

Terrible. I went at 215am as it was one if the only options open near where I live. Ordered Carnay Asada fries and a can of soda came to $20.00 plus a .50 cent fee to use my card.

I was charged $15.99 for the fries although the menu said $14.99 then on top of that I was only given one green hot sauce when asked for more she said they were out. Got home to see all the meat cheese sour creM and guacamole was loaded on top of a bed of dry cold fries. One sauce. Huh.

Went there this evening January 15, 2026 I ordered a California burrito and a Pollo asada quesadilla. Total cost was $32.45, seemed a little high so I reviewed my receipt and noticed that the 14.99 quesadilla was charged at 15.99, while reviewing that I noticed that the receipt said El Cilantro Mexican Grill in El Cajon, well not being in El Cajon but in San Diego i decided to check the tax rate on my order and realized they were charging El Cajon sales tax in the city of San Diego, I presume they most have purchased or acquired the register and they never updated the tax rate, I asked the woman who worked there about all of this and she said she knows nothing about it and she ran the order a second time to confirm, once confirmed she refunded the $1. Be sure to check your receipts. FYI this exchange happened at the inside register not the drive thru.

Hungry at 12am on a Saturday most things are closed BUT NOT THIS PLACE. Place looks a little run down and the drive thru was a little confusing so we parked at got off. 1 lady running the dine in and the drive thru and 1 man running the kitchen. We got a Cali burrito, Carne Asada nachos, rolled tacos, a Jamaica and a slice a flan because why not for a total of $45. The carne asada flavor was immaculate. It was seasoned so well and different from other shops. It taste like maybe its marinated with citrus. The guacamole is thinner not chunky which is how i prefer anyway. The nachos were STACKED that it had to be wrapped in foil paper because the box wouldnt close. The rolled tacos were hot and fresh with gooey cheese and guacamole. The flan was firm but yummy. Burrito was classic Cali but i would add pico inside next time. We completely forgot to get salsa and honestly, it didnt need it. The jamaica was on the sweeter side and not homemade but it did the job. The burrito and carne asada nachos were a lot of food that we got two meals out of each. WILL FORSURE BE BACK! Gracias a la señora y al jefe!!

I went there last night starving like Marvin cuz they have good deals when I ordered I had to correct the cashier how she was charged me a $1.46 extra once she seen and corrected is she had an attitude out of this world she went back to the cooks whisper suppers and them they looking at me laughing laughing laughing I did not let that bother me initially because I sit there watching the cooks prepare my meal when I directed the cook by friend make sure that the patty for the hamburger is well done he said no problem but if I would take a seat and sit down I was very uncomfortable with that being that I knew that they were laughing at me whatever she had told them and then I heard her go back there asking them something and he said Aya which means her in Spanish got my rotacos and put them in the deep fryer at that point I was done I called my husband to come in and assist me with getting my money back and I left that place The lady had an attitude through her hands up this was a horrible experience mind you I was hangry as hell

Terrible first time experience. Do not recommend. The pricing they have advertised on here Google Maps doesn’t not match what the have published on their store menus. I think they get away with this behavior because they get a lot of first time traffic and no regulars. Don’t recommend.

Please support this community friendly taco business! instead of Vaqueros Carne Asada “the barrel” which causes traffic jams.

The Taqueria Imperial tacos were great with a lot of meat.
I’ve tried their Carne Asada, Pollo, Carnitas and their Goat all were flavorful and had nice quality of meat.

This business complied with community requests and designed their drive thru entrance on Rainbow St. to exit onto Lisbon St or Imperial Ave. This avoids traffic jams blocking Lisbon St. The Jamacha community has requested “the barrel” Vaqueros Carne asada, to eliminate the entrance on Lisbon St. for decades since 2002! But the business still has never complied.

The Taqueria Imperial is located exclusively within the Jamacha Neighborhood (not Encanto).
