$20 for 4 or 5 tacos that were filled + a Jaritos. Quick service. Friendly. Great vibe. Love all the plants and the colorsThe taco with avocado did not skimp on it. Didn’t love their hot sauce. Definitely will come again

It’s been a few years, but I made my way back to the promised land (The #7) ifykyk
Taqueria El Lugar was the main reason why I started mowing yards at the age of 12. I was staying the night at a friends house and his parents took us to the original location. That’s where I first tried it 25 years ago. It was so good to me, I knew that I would do whatever it took to eat there more often. Seeing as I grew up in a less fortunate family, that meant I had to make my own money. Thus the reason for mowing yards.
I continued to eat there over the years and I never grew tired of it. Towards the end, I started to notice the quality going down and the price going up, so I stopped going all together.
That all changed when I decided to give them another shot yesterday for lunch and I couldn’t be any happier.
As soon as I took a bite of that number 7, I felt like I was instantly in the 8th grade all over again. The meat was juicy and very tender. There was little to no gristle at all. Everything about it was excellent. I also ordered a number 6 (meat, cheese, tortilla) with added cilantro. It was also on point.
Of course the sauces complement the food so well and added another layer of flavor, mixed with a healthy squeeze of a fresh lime
As long as they keep making me number 7’s like this, they’ll definitely be staying in my rotation.

Incredibly good food but the staff is straight up rude. Especially the man who cooks. He made a comment that stated, verbatim, “Why y’all always gotta come in here and order so much food.” Mind you, I have a family to feed and I pay with MY MONEY and ALWAYS TIP. All we got was 8 tacos, 2 quesadillas, and a couple sides of rice. That’s not only unprofessional but INCREDIBLY rude. If you don’t like your job, maybe. Just maybe, don’t work there ♀️. The orders we make keep you in business. This isn’t just a today thing, but EVERY SINGLE TIME we go there. Yet we always give a “please and thank you.” And leave decent tips. I’m not saying you can’t have a bad day, but at least wait til the customer leaves the store before starting shit.
Thanks

The last few visits I was a little disappointed with how they chose to answer the phones and ask me to hold and then hangup after waiting a while, then not answer the next 20 times I called. But this time they actually answered and asked me to hold only for a brief moment then took my order promptly. The attitude of the woman speaking never seems very happy but I suppose when working over a hot grill all day that may change ones attitude. Always good food though.

The food is good but the service is absolutely awful. The older woman with the short blonde hair or at least she had blonde hair during this visit has an awful attitude and this is not the first time I have encountered it either. I have gone in there and have been nice, respectful, and have waited my turn to order etc. and she is still absolutely disrespectful.

Food is DELICIOUS! We have visited on several occasions the past week, and have tried the beef tacos, chicken quesadilla, cheese quesadilla and big burrito & it was ALL “to die for.” My daughter is a very picky eater, and she said the chicken quesadilla is the best she has EVER eaten. The staff are always friendly. The only “complaint” I have, is they could do a better job cleaning (wiping) their tables off; they stay pretty busy though.

Ordered for pick up over the phone. Arrived at the place and waited in line for 18-20 minutes. Finally got to the cashier told them I had a pickup order. Then they said we don’t have a pickup order. Confirmed correct location and they said “oh we can make it now”. There’s a reason I did pickup order. Now on a 12 hour shift with a labor intense job I have nothing to eat. No “we’re sorry” “how do I correct this” nothing

I had the super quesadilla. It was loaded with beef, avocado, tomatoes, and jalapeños wrapped in a freshly made flour tortilla. Overall it was good but a little salty with too much grizzle and fat that made it hard to chew. The outside of the store looks pretty rough, but the inside very nice and clean. The servers were very helpful and kind. And the music was great!!! I’ll definitely be coming back.

Had not had a beef #7 in 10 years. Driving down 5th Street and saw the sign. I used to eat at the location at Troup and the Loop.
Just as big and just as good as I remember!

Green enchiladas are the best in town. The green sauce will light you up, but in the best way possible.
