I don’t even write reviews but I had to write one for this place. El Jefe is becoming my favorite restaurant. The asada boom tacos are amazing!!! I like that you can pick your own salsa flavors and mix/match. It’s probably a good thing I don’t live in faribault, otherwise I think I’d eat here every day. 5 star!

My friend and wife and I started this evening at a “nicer class” restaurant, and found ourselves so dissatisfied with things that we had to leave and came to El Jefe. Let me tell you, I have never been more well served by such wonderful people in my entire life. We were all treated above and beyond anything we hoped to be. It was my friend’s birthday, and he came all the way from Albert Lea to enjoy his weekend here. They were extremely friendly and kind and generous. Not to mention, their food is amazing. They even brought him a huge bowl of ice cream (not typical) to help us celebrate him for his birthday. They have always been great to eat with, but I have never loved a restaurant and their staff more than this. We had a blast and could tell that they loved what they do. Thanks, Boss!

Place is clean,service was fast. Food is good. Man the nachos are cheap N good for $5. All this food for $21, 2 tacos are missing due to my stomach. This size is a medium nacho but enough for 3 portion size. Meat was pretty good and fresh. I also got 3 sauces as well. Street tacos are good as well. I love the fact that they have a topping bar, I got a whole extra container for free and to make the food better. Thank You!
Update: I’ve never had a Birra taco and this changed my life. Oh my dammm it was so good. It’s a taco that grilled with cheese and meat in it. You take your taco and dip it in the red sauce and it will change your life, if you like Pineapple eat a few pieces with it for a sweet and sour taste to it, it’s free at the topping bar.You’re welcome.

I’ve tried several tacos places in Minnesota, and this is one of my favorites. Tortillas are fresh – not fried, and the meat is cooked perfectly – not dry. They give you a generous amount of meat and have great service.

Very okay. I was excited about the vibe but when my chips and salsa were a handful of those round, salty nacho chips you get at a fair were on my plate, they didn’t taste any more authentic than the nachos at the fair. My friend got the impressivey large nacho plate. Looked great, but bland. The vibe was on, but the food tasted like everything was straight out of a can or plastic bag.

When you order extra, they do give extra, not for free tho lol. The food is so delicious and the workers are very knowledgeable. Would recommend for everyone to eat here

Stopped here while in town shopping. The food was great with a large variety of choices. Portions were huge, very happy with this stop! Lots of fresh veggies and overall a good experience.
