Establishments that have staying power are those with consistent personnel who are courteous, very hardworking, and friendly and that’s case here. It’s easy to spot a manager here because they are constantly moving, checking on customer satisfaction, clearing tables, and assisting the waitresses with orders. I’ve had wonderful meals here every time I’ve come – early in the morning to late at night. The Carnitas and half-pound barbacoa (a feast and affordable) are my go tos. The menudo is one of the best in town.

An all round solid spot for my first breakfast tacos on this Christmas visit back. The flour tortillas were perfect with great fillings – the taco luz especially was a great combo!

The food looks amazing but taste is just ok. The service is impeccable.
The carne Guisada is lacking flavor. The fajitas are not what im accustomed to. I like nice sliced stripes. These are chopped up beef cuts. The tripa taco was amazing though. These were 3 different tacos. Id return to try something else off the menu though.

Tried this for the first time visiting from PHX, hands down the best Mexican I’ve had in TX. The corn tortillas are soft & warm, the meat juicy & the burritos wet! Homemade chips & salsa, epic spot.

We went to Taqueria Datapoint on a quiet Tuesday, a couple of days after Easter this year. It had been talked up with the kind of reverence normally reserved for sacred institutions. Proper Mexican food. None of that watered-down Tex-Mex nonsense. Just real, no-compromise flavours from a kitchen that supposedly knows what it’s doing. I was looking forward to it. Genuinely.

We walked in and were greeted kindly. It was no-frills but warm and inviting. The menu read like a hymn sheet to breakfast and comfort. Everything was priced so low it felt like we’d stepped into the past. So we ordered a bit of everything, enough to sample the best of what they had to offer.

Then it happened. I bit into a breakfast taco and immediately felt something catch in my throat. Not just a tickle. A sharp slice of tortilla lodged itself in the wrong place and I started choking. Not the dramatic kind you see on television. The real kind. Silent, frightening, helpless. My partner froze. The dining room disappeared around me.

The waitress noticed and came over straight away. She didn’t panic. She was calm, focused, deeply concerned. I couldn’t speak, and between gestures and instinct we knew we had to leave for the hospital. I stood up, still struggling, ready to pay and go. But she wouldn’t let us pay. “Please, just take care of yourself,” she said. That was it. No fuss. No scene.

It was an unsettling moment and I wish it had gone another way. Because the small bites I did manage were absolutely delightful. The flavours were rich, proper. I could taste the care (literally). And I knew, in a different moment, that this would have been one of the best meals of the trip.

But what I remember most is how the staff treated me. No questions, no hesitation. Just quiet generosity. You don’t get that everywhere. In fact, you rarely do. It takes a certain kind of person to hold grace under pressure, to show kindness without expecting applause. I can’t recommend the place enough. Go visit, you won’t be disappointed.

This was the beat mexican food I’ve had in years. The barbacoa plate was some of the best I’ve had. The service was excellent and I will definitely be back.

Simple, delicious food. I had the chilaquiles which was good tho could use a little seasoning overall. Husband had the pork chop (chuleta de puerco) which was cooked perfectly – simply seasoned but very good indeed with eggs and potatoes. The winner was the barbacoa street tacos though – again, no frills but well prepared. The charro beans everyone raved about was the only let down – we’ve had so much better and the prevalent sausage (instead of bacon) flavor is just not something we are personally used to. The refried beans tho were heavenly. And finally the 4 salsas with the complimentary chips were fun – the warm Rojas was the clear winner.

Service was fantastic with friendly and attentive but not hovering waitstaff.

The food was delicious! The concierge at our hotel recommended it and it did not disappoint. The chips and 4 different salsas to start. Then we ordered guacamole and it came with fresh chicarons. I ordered beef nachos suprema and the beef was out of this world! Like a chopped up steak with excellent flavor. It was a huge portion and had beans, cheese, sour cream, avocado, jalapeños. My hubby got carnitas (also a huge portion) with rice and beans and tortillas. He said it was excellent as well. And the bonus–Mexican Coke cold in a bottle! Would definitely eat here again!

Love this place been coming here for about 2 years now and to me is the only Mexican restaurant place I like. The waiters and waitress are very nice and respectful. I usually order the mini tacos Al pastor tacos with the lime and they are always good. But this time around an order a burrito with Carne Asada and it was amazing. It was a big sized burrito. Had a side of beans and a salad and my go to drink which never fails is the horchata.
