Best birria tacos I’ve had in a long time. Best Mexican food in the Sonora area for sure. Will definitely come back!

Best authentic Mexican food around. I had the carne asada tacos. They have a salsa bar and chips are included with your order. Very nice staff. The food was awesome.

Absolutely disgusting and bland food. I love Mexican food and we have a lot of bad Mexican food in town. This is by FAR the worst. I have a family of four and we got about 6 entrees. Literally everything was AWEFUL. go anywhere but here. Tacos el Rey could beat these guys if they had a 30min head start.

After a great day of camping, I was craving some authentic Mexican food and I found exactly that at this amazing family owned taqueria. I decided to give it a try, and wow… it completely blew me away! The barbacoa and birria tacos were absolutely delicious they took me right back to my hometown in Mexico.

The place was spotless, which is a big deal for me, especially since I have kids. Even the bathroom was clean, which you don’t always find at restaurants. Everything about this spot felt welcoming and well cared for.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for real, authentic Mexican food. My kids loved it too we’ll definitely be coming back!

We tried their carnitas, chicken and asada tacos and I liked the asada the best. It had nice seasoned flavor and not over cooked.

The food was really good, just not hot, I kinda expected my burrito to be really hot when freshly made, had to go home and microwave, really good Chile Verde

Tried this place for dinner, hoping to find a new favorite, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish.

I placed a to-go order and was halfway through when the phone rang. The cashier asked me to hold, then took the phone order and put it ahead of mine. That should’ve been my cue to leave, but I stayed quiet.

I ordered two plates and an order of flautas. When I went to pay, I was charged an extra fee for using a card, with no sign posted or notice given up front. Again, I let it slide.

I was given three salsa cups and went to the salsa bar, which looked good. Realizing I’d need more, I politely asked for two additional cups after waiting for another customer to finish ordering. I was told they charge for more than three cups, though they eventually agreed to give me one more after checking my order. Honestly, at $20 per plate and $10 for three flautas, you’d expect more than a single cup of salsa per item.

Then came the wait. The phone order (taken before mine) got their food first, followed by customers who ordered after me. When my order finally came, I took it home only to find more disappointment:

The flautas were soggy on the bottom, crispy only on the ends.

My wife’s Chile Verde was bland and a small portion for the price.

My Asada plate had two large pieces of meat, but both were extremely dry.

Overall, not a good experience. I won’t be back. If you’re craving Mexican food, there are better options nearby: Taqueria Sonora downtown, Taco Shop El Rey in East Sonora, or for a similar price point, Cocina Michoacana in the plaza.

Wow just had their marinated shredded chicken super burrito. Delicious! Bought it to eat later in the day, but took a bite and couldn’t stop. Hope the marinated shredded chicken stays on the menu!! Great salsa bar, lots to choose from. Clean and colorful indoor seating.

As a SoCal Native, I would 10/10 recommend these guys! The flavor was so on point. Normally, I have to add some lime or hotsauce to get that flavor-bomb Mexican food I crave but their burrito bowl was PERFECT. Boyfriend had the super burrito and it was also 10/10. They are very reasonable on pricing too and the staff are very friendly. Definitely worth trying!

Ooh and the salsa bar…. SLAPS chefs kiss
