It was explained to us how the operation works. You pay by the oz. And on average was .60 cents per oz.
You load a card up with funds or attach a credit card so that you can freely pour your own beer
The food for the bar would be considered mid to upscale bar food.
I was kinda hungry so I forgot to take pictures but I did get the pulled pork BBQ grilled cheese which was good.
I like the concept. It’s pretty fun so I definitely give it a try.
Taps on Main consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience, making it a standout choice for both casual meals and special events in Kansas City’s vibrant Crossroads Arts District. Recently, I had the pleasure of hosting our fantasy football draft at this establishment, and it exceeded all expectations.
From the moment we arrived, the staff’s professionalism and warmth set the tone. They were attentive, accommodating, and genuinely invested in ensuring our group had a fantastic time. Their seamless coordination made the draft event run smoothly, creating a welcoming and festive atmosphere that kept everyone in high spirits. The team’s ability to anticipate our needs and handle requests with efficiency was truly commendable, aligning with reviews praising their fast and engaging service.
The food, often an afterthought at event-focused venues, was a delightful surprise. Taps on Main offers a menu of upscale bar food, including their standout Buffalo-style wings, which are touted as the best in the city, and Mardi Gras-inspired dishes like hearty Jambalaya. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, boasting fresh ingredients and bold flavors that elevated the experience. The quality and presentation rivaled that of higher-end establishments, making it clear that the kitchen takes pride in its craft. The pour-your-own-beer wall, featuring 40 taps, added a fun and interactive element, allowing our group to sample a wide variety of craft beers at our leisure.
The ambiance strikes a perfect balance—lively yet comfortable, ideal for group gatherings or a night out. The space is clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with a charming outdoor patio that enhances the experience on pleasant evenings. The dozen televisions and vibrant atmosphere make it an ideal spot for sports fans, yet it remains welcoming for all.
In summary, Taps on Main is a gem that consistently delivers on service, food, and atmosphere. Whether you’re planning a special event like our fantasy football draft or simply looking for a great meal, this restaurant is sure to impress. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning soon.
The burger was great. The tater tots were great. Good value. My friend had an Old Fashioned, loved it. Had a melt, loved it. Really friendly efficient staff.
They seemed to have whatever my coworkers wanted. I enjoyed a Shirley Temple and appreciate that they have non-alcoholic options.
The servers were attentive and brought out our food pretty quickly. The pretzel sticks, chicken fingers, and fried chicken fingers were a hit. The nachos looked delicious but were soggy so those weren’t as popular. I am dairy free, so we ordered French fries which were delightful. They were just the right texture – a little crunchy and soft inside.
They have some large garage style doors that open up the restaurant to outdoor seating and it was a beautiful day.
