Victoria was a great waitress and very attentive to our needs

11/30/2025…. Visited Taphouse Twenty again, this time Anna was our waitress. She did a great job and took care of our table of nine flawlessly. I had the ahi tuna rice bowl and it was very good. Highly recommend! Wish I would have taken a photo!

My boyfriend and I stopped for lunch on our way north. We were seated immediately. Drinks were served quickly. Didn’t order any fancy drinks, just Captain and Coke for me and a beer for him. We ordered the sampler platter appetizer, which had a lot of variety. He ordered the primetime burger and tater tots. I ordered the jalapeno popper burger and fries. Everything was served hot and tasted great. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.

EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK: This place was abysmal. When my group arrived, it was dead. This should’ve been my first clue. I ordered the chips. I was told they were homemade. They were extra crispy and for $10 it was much more of a side of chips rather than an appetizer. Moving on to the main course, I ordered the boneless wings. They were like chicken toothpaste with breading. Not a pleasant consistency at all. The fries that I ordered as a side had a very weird after taste like the grease trap hadn’t been cleaned in years. Moving on to the service, there were 6 of us and the waiter had to have the orders repeated multiple times for each person. Then, when he had all of the orders, he went over everything again and was again missing items from each persons orders. This happened throughout our time here. One of the meals was grilled chicken, it was more like dehydrated overcooked chicken with half cooked cheese on top. Two of the meals were burgers, and they were flamed to a burnt crisp. I do not recommend this place. If there was less than one star I would give it. No redemption for this one. I would suggest if you are in a bind, eat at the Kwik star across the street. Gas station food would be given a higher rating than this establishment.

Was just passing through town and we stopped here. I can’t believe this place is only rated 3.9. My friend and I both got a hamburger and we couldn’t believe how good the meat was. I’ve been a lot of places and this burger was god level. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned.

It tasted like a home made burger barbecued by only Hank Hill himself with quality Strickland propane and propane accessories.

+1 star extra for the gluten free bun. It was also very good—on the gluten free scale of course.

+1 extra star for the Guinness on tap that was fresh and perfectly pored.

+1 extra star for reasonable prices. 2 burgers, 3 drinks for under 50.

A favorite spot in Tomah. The wings are excellent. Fast service. Friendly staff. Definitely worth the visit if you’re passing through.

Edit: July and August 2025

Food has really gone down hill in the past year. Burgers were super dried. Meatloaf was dry as well. Servers seem uninterested in their jobs unfortunately. Used to be a local favorite for us who are in town, but we haven’t been by for months. Not sure if management and chef were changed, but could definitely use a do over.

Can’t rate anything else because we were never waited on. Sat down at the bar. Bartender acknowledged me after about 10 minutes. Got the guy next to me a drink that came in after me. Never came back to wait on me and my husband. We have worked in the service industry and are very patient but it felt like he just didn’t want to wait on us. Extremely disappointed

Came in around 7pm tonight. Host sat me on the corner by myself. Sat for 15 minutes no service. Another family came in and got seated behind me. 5 minutes later a server goes and helps them. I ended up leaving. WHY DOES THE SERVICE ALWAYS SUCK. food is okay. Beer selection is huge but for the life of me. IMPROVE THE SERVICE.

Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere was good and everything was clean. Salad bar was really nice. BUT, all three of us had pasta/chicken meals…very bland and dry pasta, small overcooked dry chicken portions, and over done bread sticks! Avoid the pasta meals! Hopefully the rest of their menu is better. Doubt we’ll be back to find out.

Excellent Wisco burger. Chicken strips were not very good. Good curds. Good fries. Wide selection of beer. Will visit again.
