We were looking for a new Mexican place and Tapatio popped up. I’ve heard of it and driven by many times but never gave it much thought. We wanted to try a new place, since we’re from Sandy and there isn’t much to choose from. We were greeted right away, waters and chips and salsa (and refried beans) came out immediately. We ordered a couple different margaritas and they were yummy. The food was hot, flavorful and portions were huge. The carne asada was charbroiled to perfection and the pork tamale was full of shredded pork. Overall everything tasted fresh and was seasoned very well. We were very pleasantly surprised with Tapatio and will definitely be back!

I grew up eating a lot of Tex-Mex down in Texas, and this is hands down the best Mexican food I’ve had in the entire Portland area…period. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in traditional Mexican decor. The service is exemplary; a smile greets you at the front door as you enter, and again as you leave. But I have to go back to the food. We live in Gladstone, over 20 miles away. We will, however, be making monthly visits to Tapitio’s…if not more frequently. That’s a testament to how terrific the food is here. Five Star!

This food was amazing! We were luck enough that it wasn’t too busy. We can here as a family group and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Service was polite, efficient and ready to manage our needs. The food was delicious! There was a slight communication issue where I accidentally ordered my enchiladas without sauce and when we figured out the issue they brought me a full cup of the sauce. If I didn’t have significant self control I might have drank some of it. My 2 year old had a ground beef quesadilla and it was so good when she finished I liberated her leftovers for myself and drenched that also in enchilada sauce. The leftovers didn’t last 12 hours before they were gone. The place was clean and the noise was minimal. Great place for families, prepare to leave very full.

Good service and my wife’s strawberry Margarita was yummy. The chips and salsa were good, but the enchiladas both Ground beef and shredded chicken was not good. The beans and rice were beans and rice , pretty hard to mess that up. Not sure what flavoring they use for enchiladas but it is gross.

Great dinner, great service on a late Sunday night. Drinks were fantastic too. Check new menu prices though, old Google photos were misleading.

We came back after 2 months to give them another try to see if they would get my order right and they did!!! Yay finally no rice on my plate. I love there refried beans. This time I ordered there 3 tacos delicious!!! And the owner honored his word of giving us a free meal. The owner is very nice and caring. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Very good food! The wait staff was very engaging and genuine. It’s a bit spendy, but you know you’ll be getting good food! Margaritas we’re a bit weak, but that’s about the worst thing I could say about the experience. Good time!

The customer service was great, our server was super nice and really helpful. The food, however, could have been straight from Taco Bell and it might have tasted better. I ordered the three tacos. Never before at a Mexican restaurant have I been disappointed in tacos. My husband said the same of his burrito. We won’t be back.
