Been here a few times. Nice service and atmosphere.

Favorite items were the berenjena asada (roasted eggplant, vegetables, and minted yogurt), the ensalada serrano (bibb lettuce, serrano ham, Manchego cheese, tomato vinaigrette), and the Idiazabal (cheese, chorizo, and caper berries).

The mint yogurt was a great contrast with the savory eggplant with some kind of tomato sauce. The tomato vinaigrette on the salad was light, refreshing, and worked nicely with the rich, salty ham and Manchego. The idiazaba had a good portion of cheese and the herbaceuos and tart caper berries were a great contrast to the rich and fatty chorizo and cheese.

Have also had the smoked trout dip, the spinach and crab with sherry sauce, the garbanzo beans with sausage, mushrooms with sherry and garlic, and the marinated anchovies.

They were fine but none of those really jumped out. I don’t feel any of them added up to anything more than the sum of their parts. Also the mushroom dish was incredibly salty.

I’d go back but, other than the eggplant dish and salad with Serrano ham and the Idiazabal, I would have to try other dishes.

We loved Tapas Teatro! We came during the restaurant week and tried 8 different tapas between two people. It was way too much food to finish, but all of it delicious! The service was great and the atmosphere was charming. We’ll be back for more!

Let me begin by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would absolutely go back again, even though some things were not quite as I would have preferred them to be. I am a very tough critic of tapas places, as I lived in Spain for two years, and I imagine that most diners would rate the food here five stars. I thought the croquetas with truffle oil were actually an improvement over the Spanish version, as I do not recall ever seeing truffle oil served over there with croquetas, but it was just so, so perfect for the dish and sublime to soak up with bread afterwards. I thought the Spanish tortilla and the platter of Spanish meats and cheeses we ordered were very authentic, and I loved the spinach and crabmeat and Spanish ratatouille despite never having seen or eaten them before. The albondigas, mussels, and Galician-style octopus were very tasty but perhaps slightly less memorable than the other dishes listed thus far, as the flavors were slightly more muted than I would ideally have liked. I also thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of the Fritura de Mariscos, even though I would imagine most Spanish restaurants would serve the seafood with lemon and aioli sauce but not fried. For me, the fried presentation took a bit away from the dish since I much prefer it the other way. Finally, the grilled octopus really missed the mark, as it was such a small piece of tentacle that its texture seemed to be a bit compromised by the grilling process. The sauce was also not what I was looking for, I would strongly recommend they charge slightly more for a proper portion and serve it in the Valencian style with oil and paprika. Truthfully, I doubt that it would cost them much of anything, as the ingredients are very simple, and it should not take the chef more than five minutes to figure out how to adjust the recipe given the overall level of competence observed. The service was good, but, as is unfortunately so very common nowadays, the restaurant felt a bit understaffed for a busy Friday evening. Finally, the tables were packed in New York City-style, something which I do not prefer at all, though opinions in the States may vary; certainly, I never had the experience in Spain of being forced to listen to people talk about their marital problems while trying to enjoy my dinner, nor do I recall having to worry about the physical size of the tables in tapas restaurants being too small to accommodate our orders. While this bothered me, many would undoubtedly find it edgy, and I will say that the decor was very nice and well thought-out, creating an ambiance rarely found in American restaurants nowadays.

The main point of this rate is that the food made me seriously ill. So I don’t recommend it and won’t be going back. Otherwise, the service was good, even though there was an error with the order at the beginning, which was quickly rectified. The cocktail was good. The atmosphere was okay. The food was too greasy, too salty, the textures were mediocre, and overall it was edible (but as I said at the beginning, it didn’t stay in my stomach for long), but really not great for a price that is quite high for this type of restaurant (having been to quite a few tapas restaurants, particularly in the US and in cities that are generally much more expensive than Baltimore).

Walked in here by accident and will return! My server, Allegra, was very nice and informative! I love charcuterie but rarely order it when I go out because of my gluten allergy. Thankfully this place had gluten free crackers so I could enjoy it! The pomegranate onion jam? Delicious! I also had the Spanish Paella, could be more flavorful honestly. The meat and seafood in it was great but the rice itself lacked seasoning. I reheated it at home and had to add more seasoning. But I loved that it was a great portion. I also had the Sangre Del Sol, a blood orange cocktail. It was very good! The couple next to me had a flourless chocolate cake? I can’t wait to try it next time I visit.. Side note the lighting could be better. I had to use my phone light to see the menu

If your a foodie and always looking for interesting foods this the place. Spanish tapas served in small dishes. That allows you to choose from a variety of different dishes but remember they are small portions. If your with a group of people to have fun. This is the place to be. A glass of sangria helps alot. They provide free bread with an olive oil dip but like everything, small pieces are provided as well as the dipping olive oil.
Service was good, varieties were interesting. Now keep in mind if your a nibble this place is perfect but if yourcan eater, you may not be full.
Atmosphere was great. Slightly romantic and very cozy.
A good experience if your lookingvgorcsonething different but est beforehand so your notcstarving when you go.
On my scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being excellent, I give my Chef Woo Can rating is a 10!.

This is our new favorite restaurant in Baltimore! We came here on a whim, and it didn’t disappoint. The wine menu is incredible, with Spanish sourced flavors and reasonable prices. The food was impeccable. The service was outstanding, attentive and super friendly. 10/10 recommend!!!

My party of 4 was able to snag a table within 5 mins at 6pm on Saturday. Everyone on staff was so welcoming and the service was fantastic. The food was delicious and as close to Spain as we would get in the US. We had a snafu with our order, but the staff was super accommodating. They also helped us eat in under an hour because we had to get a show.
I’m adding it to my list of Baltimore favorites.

Cool little tapas style restaurant serving Spanish plates. Very dimly lit so makes perfect for date night. The food was okay. We only liked half of what we got. The best one is definitely the octopus. Really love the potato and tomatoes accompanying it. Don’t think I’d revisit tho.

I love to come here either before a show at the Lyric, after a movie at the Charles, or just a good date night. The food and drinks are always good. Love the octopus.
