Decent and fresh Italian Food!
Just had our annual Christmas dinner last week where I’m working part time. Quite impressed on the quality of food and options. We got flatbreads and they were delish, almost not making it to the entree coz they’re quite filling.
Also got the arancini which were very good
I got the shrimp and sausage paella for my main dish, shrimp was well cooked and tasty. The only downside will be there are bits of undercooked rice and a bit soupy? but overall enjoyed it.
I got the pana cotta instead of the traditional tiramisu for dessert and glad I made that choice it coz it’s the best pana cotta I ate for the longest time. Very silky and topped with some coulis and fresh berries.

We had the Flatbread appetizer as a starter and ordered cocktails. Both were very good, my Caesar was perfect!
We had the Lamb Shank with amazing Moroccan flavors served on Polenta and the Chicken Parmigiano with moist, perfectly prepared chicken w/pasta and a rich tomato sauce. We finished with a fresh & fruity dessert.
The service was attentive, the dinner was amazing, the decor and atmosphere were relaxing and pleasant.

I had the salmon. It was the best I’ve had, downtown or anywhere! Perfect cook on the protein – almost never is salmon cooked well, let alone perfectly. The rice & rapini were also exceptional. Vito the owner made it a point to come out and say hi when I let the waitress know how impressed I was.

What a hidden gem. the food was top tier quality and so refreshing to finally find this level of gastronomy and service in Durham. My only regret is not knowing about them sooner. They truly have an extensive menu. There’s something for everyone but if you love seafood you have died and gone to heaven. The whole fish was superb.

We went to A Tavola to celebrate a friend’s birthday. My wife and I had never been at the restaurant. It was a trip of discovery! Fabulous food, very well prepared and tasting amazing. And the service was also excellent. I have food intolerances that make eating out complicated. Not at A Tavola! They managed to get me the food I wanted and eliminated the offending items. They even had artisanal gluten-free bread. It was a dinner to remember. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone.

What a fantastic experience! I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem on a corner in Whitby.
The atmosphere was perfect. The music and the low lighting really added to the romantic ambiance of the experience.
Our server was fantastic and was very attentive to all our specific diet needs.
And the food was DELICIOUS. Truly the best Italian food I’ve had in a while.
I recommend this place for all special events, intimate gatherings or just a date night out. Will definitely be going again.

This is a place you gotta try. I usually love reviewing coffee shops but this place is worth the drive. I’m currently from Toronto, I had a friends birthday dinner here. Trish, our waitress, was bursting with love and enthusiasm. I could feel how she described the food through her energy. The food is beyond flavourful. You’re going to taste fresh ingredients, you gotta wanna try everything, so be ready to share with friends. I could go on about the food, cappuccino and dessert but I don’t wanna waste your time. This is a must try for lovers and party events. PS. I wish I could have shook the chefs hand, this food was a piece of Italy . Thank you Chef for making our night so special.

I have been to this restaurant 3 times and will not go there again. The food is ok, but overpriced. The service is lacklustre. Our waitress seemed frustrated and rude (no questions about our meals, do we want anything else, how is everything, etc?) The atmosphere is dark and uninviting. On top of that, our bills already included a 20% tip, hand written on the bill. This was unprofessional. I will tip for good service and food, but I dont want to feel intimidated to tip
