Tapa is a go to for us for sushi in American Fork. The food is good. Service is typically good. And the environment is mellow. It can get loud in there if it’s a busy night and people are drinking but overall it’s pretty chill. If something isn’t right they are quick to address and fix it.

I recently placed a pickup order from Tapa Sushi. Over the phone, the staff were friendly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately , one of the items I ordered was completely inedible. The Gyoza was badly burned, to the point where it shouldn’t have been boxed up and sent out.
When I called to ask for a refund for just that one item, they refused, saying I could come back another time for a replacement instead. That’s really disappointing because I drove 25 minutes to get my order. Mistakes happen, but refusing to refund a $6 item after serving something that couldn’t be eaten is unacceptable. It’s not about the money it’s about doing the right thing.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and ensures better quality control and customer service in the future. People, check your food before you take it home. I’m sure they wouldn’t have serve this for the people dining in.

We just had a 5-person birthday lunch extravaganza here this afternoon (lunch ends at 4 PM), and everything was fantastic —
We had three appetizers:
the crispy calamari (which is also sticky and delicious),
the gyoza (Japanese style, crunchy, and not too chewy or thick-skinned),
And an off-menu house specialty that I won’t mention here, so it’s more likely to be available next time we come.
We ordered a bunch of their lunch specials, about half of them were the sushi lunches, with two hot dishes:
The tonkatsu (the breaded pork cutlet over rice) was served in a large bowl, with a large and delicious portion — the coddled egg and extra barbecue sauce were excellent (see the photo); and
The Japanese yellow curry vegetables with rice, which was very good (and smoky; the curry could have been a little looser and saucier, i reckon)
Overall, the sushi was very good (see the photo).
Perhaps because we ordered six lunch specials for five people and a few appetizers, we had some extra hot food to take home — about one full lunch’s worth.
We definitely plan on coming back, especially given the reasonable prices. 🙂

Just took my cousin there for his birthday, we got the lunch special, we got 2 rolls and miso for 11 bucks. The food was amazing, highly recommended the tempura roll, good balance of crunch to the rice.

I have a new favorite sushi place. I came for lunch. The service was good, friendly and fast. The sushi was so good. I have had sushi in many places in Utah, and this is the best I’ve had. Better than tsunami. The gyoza is the best I’ve ever had! The orange chicken was the best that I’ve ever had! The playboy roll was the best I’ve ever had! The Vegas roll, well, it was good. will be back and soon!

I’ve been here a couple times with my wife and it’s been a great experience each time. The food is delicious and the servers are always able to answer my questions about gluten-free options.

My whole family loves Tapa Sushi. We LOVE the rolls, but this time a couple of us tried the Udon bowls. They loved them.
The service is always prompt and enjoyable. They have great recommendations. Ask and you won’t be disappointed.

We came explicitly for lunch-menu katsudon, and ended up splitting that and beef kare. Both were fantastic. I don’t understand why katsudon is only on the lunch menu. Our server–who was also impressive–said katsudon just isn’t popular enough to make the dinner menu. The miso soup is especially strong, and our server offered us free refills (which I didn’t accept only because I knew the food portions were going to be plentiful, because otherwise I’d love more of that delicious miso recipe).

Came here for a late lunch and it was decent. Service was great and responsive to our needs.
The tempura appetizer had huge vegetables, but really really small shrimp. The miso soup bowl (although tasty) had a very small amount of soup. Would love to come back and see these changes!
