Even my profile says that I love a good old fashioned dive bar. This, my friends, is such a one. It is a true “beer bar”, meaning that it serves no liquor. Yes, Kansas used to have a lot of them! It doesn’t have a grill, so I was leery of the bierock on the menu. My suspicions were ill-founded, as it turned out to be very good! They do have a deep-fryer, and a good selection of snacks that can be prepared by that method. It is one end to the other Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, Kansas State Wildcats, and Coors….these are a few of my favorite things! They don’t take plastic, but they do have an ATM ($2.95 fee) and dive-bar feels for MILES.

A year ago we visited the Tap Room….. an hour out of our way to Minnesota. Friends of ours in Point Blank, Texas told us about a family owned bar in their home town. We just had to go. It was worth it !!! Stop by !! Cold beer!

Great little stop! The owner is nice as heck! Only 2 beers on tap!?! Coors and Coors Light.. it has been The Tap Room since the ’50s. They serve only deep fried and microwave lore… we had fish and chips… it was great!

Great little bar / restaurant. Nice proprietor. Food was good. Be sure to take cash as no cards accepted. Has an ATM at the front of the building just in case.
