One word: Wow! Tao offers a truly exceptional dining experience. Everything from the ambiance to the service, the food, and the overall quality is top shelf. Neal, our waiter, was an outstanding professional waiter who helped make the evening even more enjoyable.

The wagyu steak, crackling pork belly, sushi, pad Thai, and mushroom fried rice were all excellent and did not disappoint. The giant Fortune cookie is a must try. While it is on the pricier side, the staff explains how everything works up front and will gladly guide you through ordering.

Because the menu is served family-style, it’s perfect for larger groups and makes the experience even more fun and interactive. If you have the opportunity to give Tao a try, it’s absolutely worth it you won’t be disappointed.

This restaurant is aesthetically stunning—stepping inside feels like being transported somewhere deep in Asia, with an ambiance that elevates the entire dining experience. While the menu is on the pricier side, the quality justifies the cost. I ordered the miso cod, which was exceptional, paired with perfectly prepared baby bok choy. My 10-year-old enjoyed the lobster sushi, and for dessert, we couldn’t choose just one… so we indulged in two, both outstanding.

The only element that kept this from being a truly flawless experience was our server the first time we went to this restaurant, who appeared disengaged and unhappy throughout the evening—not only with us but with other guests as well. When you’re spending nearly $200 before tip, that lack of warmth detracts from an otherwise memorable evening. Aside from that, overall service was solid, and the food and atmosphere were remarkable.

The second time here I had a more pleasant dinning experience with my husband. Food was phenomenal, service was impeccable, music was not so loud and DJ was amazing, and the manager Daniel was so very attentive and made this whole experience a 5 star! Next time you go, ask for Daniel!!

Overall a great experience. Food was high-quality, service was friendly and attentive but not solicitous, and we didn’t feel rushed. Patrons’ attire ranged from fairly casual to somewhat dressy, but this was also the night of a concert so some were clearly going to it. I would recommend the pork belly bao, the sea bass skewers, and the tonkatsu fried chicken (spicy!)

We were very impressed with the food and service here. We had a little bit more of a wait than we expected but it was extremely busy that night but dinner made up for it. Perfect cocktails. The vibe was electric, but we all prefer not having such loud music when I am dining which is why I gave 3 stars for atmosphere. Being around the music business for over 30 years, I hope management can consider the fact that music can be delightful without the customers not being able to hear one another while dining.

Daniel and Brian, again thank you for an amazing meal and wonderful atmosphere. Heather thank you for your wonderful service and true hospitality. I tried the aged rib eye for the first time, and it was one of the best steaks I’ve had in a while, my new favorite at Tao. Whether we come for one night or multiple nights we always have to make it to Tao. Pedro, sorry we missed ya, see you next time.

Wanted to go somewhere in Mohegan nice for my birthday. Definitely feel like I picked the right place, the decor was beautiful I loved the dark vibes especially for dinner. There wasn’t anything I had that night that I didn’t like. My favorite dessert in the tower would totally be the donuts with the caramel! Can’t ever go wrong with an Espresso Martini! The spicy tuna over crispy rice was probably my favorite! Also whoever they have playing the music (not sure if it’s a Dj or playlist) but they played so many good songs definitely gave me 90’s & current vibes! Great taste in music!! Highly recommend when you’re in Mohegan

I came here on a reservation specifically for the ‘Peking duck’! I have been looking for a good crispy peking duck for a while and I was very pleased with how it tasted,I was worried it would be too small but it was just perfect for 2 people.

The ‘peking duck’ has 3 layers. The skin which is thinner than a chip and crispy with a texture that almost melts in your mouth! It wasn’t fatty at all.The 2nd is the meat below the skin which is really meaty. The 3rd layer is also meaty but it is more salty and flavorful than the 2nd layer.

I recommend eating the ‘peking duck’ with one of the rice options.I had the ‘triple pork fried rice’ and it was amazing. The duck also came with some sort of spring rolls and a dipping sauce with green onions and cucumbers.

When I was done with my food the waitress went in the back and made my food ready to go! Everyone was very nice and helpful.

We went to Tao at Mohegan Sun on Halloween night to celebrate our anniversary — because we thought a “high-end” restaurant would make the night special. Spoiler: we were wrong. So wrong. Painfully wrong.

Let’s start with the steak skewers.
Calling them steak is generous. They were basically charred lumps of fat on a stick. I’ve seen better cuts left over in the grocery store trash bin. Every bite was like chewing a rubber band that lost a fight.

Then came dessert — the donuts.
Cute idea… until the “chocolate” sauce showed up. And by chocolate, I mean whatever sticky, fake, chocolate-flavored syrup-sludge they bought by the gallon from the “everything is $1” aisle. It tasted like sadness and corn syrup.

Now, on to the service.
You know that feeling when you walk into a store and the employees look like they’ve already mentally quit? That was the energy. We spent most of the night trying to make eye contact like we were signaling for rescue. Drinks took forever. Food came out whenever the kitchen felt like it. No one checked on anything — which honestly might’ve been for the best, because I’m not sure I could’ve gotten the words “This is awful” out politely.

And the bill?
Over $200.
For the experience of being ignored while eating fat-on-a-stick and Dollar-Tree chocolate sauce.

So yes — happy anniversary to us.
We’ll remember it forever — just not in the way we planned.

If you want good food, good service, or a restaurant that cares, go literally anywhere else.

If you want a place to take fake “luxury” Instagram photos while eating food that tastes like regret, Tao is waiting for you.

I went to TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge recently and wow, it’s fancy. The décor is dramatic — dark lighting, mood music, luxe Asian vibes. I felt dressed up just walking in. The sushi was amazing, super fresh and beautifully presented. I also really enjoyed the warm sake and the traditional tea — both were perfect touches. If you’re looking for a place to treat yourself, this is one for those nights.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant with stunning Asian decor. We were originally a party of 3 and had to add 2 more without any issues. As a group we shared the vegetable dumplings and the potstickers, both were delicious. Everything came out in a timely fashion and our server was very attentive. I had the Waygu ribeye. This was American Waygu, I was impressed. I’ve had my share of Japanese A5 Wagyu and this exceeded my expectations. It came with six different unique dipping sauces. I also tried some of my coworkers cauliflower. That had a delicious sauce and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly. Taking into consideration that you are at a casino, the ambiance and the service, I thought the prices were appropriate. I would definitely recommend.
