I’m from Idaho and I have NEVER had Chinese food as good as Tan’s. It’s real Authentic Chinese food, which is very rare for the north part of the US and its Consistent! Every time I go into Tan’s the place is busy. Weekdays it’s take out, weekends it’s both! But please remember to WAIT it’s so worth the wait. My family and I go at least an hour before we’re ready to eat, bring some games, laugh and have a good time while we wait. The menu is HUGE too! The best stuff is on the white board trust me. The only other place I’ve been able to find red bean buns was San Francisco. Over all it’s a great family restaurant. All it takes is a little patience and your food with be absolutely amazing. And don’t forget you want your food EXTRA spicy.

Best Chinese food in town! Service and ambience was comforting and perfect for the weather. We had the MaPo Fish with tofu and the Firecracker chicken, both are paired with a portion of steamed rice. The portions are huge. Both the dishes were absolutely tasty.
Cannot wait to try something new the next time we visit!

Great food and service. The atmosphere was calm and the food was amazing. We had the Sesame Chicken with Egg Fried Rice, and the Crab Rangoons as an appetizer. The Sesame Chicken was crisp and delicious. The Egg Fried Rice was one of the best I have had in a long time. The Crab Rangoons had a lot of cream cheese but not much crab, and was served with a spicy & savory sauce. I prefer sweet sauce with Rangoons and would have liked to have had the option. Great price I think we came out the door with a $32 bill before tipping. We will be back here as soon as possible.

A bit pricey, but portions are huge and delicious. Found this place after exploring Pullman and it reminds me of the food in the San Gabriel Valley. The lady who runs this place with her husband are very nice and welcoming. Hoghly recommended.

This place is fine. I understand the desperation to find good asian food in Pullman. The food isn’t that good. People tend to really overhype this place but it’s just plain Chinese food (likely not freshly made). I got the honey walnut shrimp and it was honestly horrible. The sauce was so sweet and cream-based, it didn’t feel like a good match for seafood. I probable won’t go again but there’s really no other choice in Pullman.

I love their food. The wait can be longer especially on weekends or fridays. I would recommend calling in to go if you’re not a patient person. There seems to be just two people working most the time and I believe they are the owners. Everyone I’ve taken here has loved their food and I keep going back even with long wait times.
If you want a less intense dessert you should definitely try their sesame balls, lotus seed buns, or red bean buns.

Very poor service and mediocre food. I’m not sure if it’s due to the WSU move in week. There’s only one wait staff who takes orders, payments, and packs to go items. Expect a very long wait time 30 minutes +for your food. We had no chopsticks or utensils when we sat down. The hong kong pan fried noodles were too salty, the batter of fried shrimps were not crispy and finally the onion ginger stir fried beef has cumin which was not a right seasoning to use for this Cantonese dish. Not recommending.

Their food was mediocre and overpriced for the quality. DO NOT order the Szechuan Beef- they told us that they just dump ketchup and hoisin sauce together, neither of which are in a real Szechuan recipe, but rather a cheap option they believe they can trick unknowing customers with. The entire dish smelled just like ketchup and made me very nauseous. When we asked to switch dishes, the owner was very rude and started gossiping and complaining about us to the customers at the next table. Horrible service, very cheap service and poor quality.

What a hidden gem! My daughter spotted this little restaurant and the dumplings on the sign and wanted to try it. It is small but very clean and the waitress was very nice. They had a fun selection of drinks that we tried. The food is family style and it was delicious and fresh. She even explained the best way to eat the dumplings to my 9 year old. The pork buns were so delicious. The bacon fried rice was new and perfect! We will definitely be back.

My first time ordering Jian Bao Buns, but I am a fan. Singapore Ma Fun (rice noodles) is my favorite go to order and I have been ordering it for 25 years since my first time ordering a joint in San Fransisco’s Chinatown. This is by far the best I have ever had (with the possible exception of the original order). I travel often and have had Chinese cuisine in several countries and at least 15 states at hundreds of restaurants. Tan’s is worth the drive and the visit. Come in, you won’t be disappointed.
