Finally a sushi spot in RVC that delivers reliably good sushi in a no-frills but warm and inviting atmosphere. Baby octopus and hamachi appetizers were excellent and authentic. Sushi and sashimi for 2 came with large slices of quality fresh fish. Sushi portion and temperature were on point. They also serve sake and beer. It was overall an excellent dining experience.

JUST WOW!!!!!! This place is a new gem that has graced RVC. I’m so glad we came here for my aunts birthday. The ambiance is relaxing and intimate. The chef and owner Tony personally came to our table to make sure everything was going well. The sushi was incredibly fresh tasting and loved the presentation. They also have gluten free soy sauce and waitstaff was knowledgeable about gluten free options. I can’t wait to come back here and will definitely be a regular.

Exceptional service, food, and ambiance. My friend and I had been having a hard time finding a local restaurant with exceptional sushi and this is it! Our usual place was closed, so we tried Tanoshi and loved it! Perfect for a romantic date or for a quiet dinner. The pricing is moderate, though the atmosphere feels very high end with the beautiful decor and lighting. Even the menu design is beautiful. I found myself admiring my surroundings a lot. The staff was lovely, very friendly, welcoming, and patient. (None of the cold impersonal feeling we usually get at other places, and while I dont usually mind, it was a nice change of pace). The food was very good, though the plum wine was much too sweet for my taste but that’s on me because I had never had it before. (I will say though, I have a very big sweet tooth so order with caution)
