I placed a phone order for pickup—chicken biryani (extra spicy) and vegetable samosas—and this place absolutely delivered. The portions were generous, especially the biryani, which came out perfectly moist and genuinely extra spicy without crossing into “too hot to enjoy.” It had that ideal balance of heat and flavor that keeps you going back for another bite.
The vegetable samosas were excellent—golden brown, crisp, and cooked to perfection. Easily some of the better samosas I’ve had in the area.
Service was just as impressive. The young man at the counter was friendly, welcoming, and made sure I had everything I needed, including to‑go silverware and plates. They even threw in some vegetables and a gulab jamun dessert free of charge, which was a really thoughtful touch.
If you’re in Modesto and craving solid Indian food with great service, I definitely recommend giving Tandoori Flame a try.

This place delivered on every level. Great butter chicken and tikka masala. Incredible Naan butter and garlic flavor with others to choose from. Cool beers from India as well that tasted great. Nice staff that was attentive and ready for your requests. Full bar as well for those that want something else to drink. All of the food was very freshly cooked perfect and delicious. Vegetable Korma, Samosas, and Raita Dip were also a hit with the fam.

My boyfriend and I just finished a wonderful dinner here at the resto- the meal was flavorful, portions were filling, and the staff was kind and accommodating. We enjoyed the vegetable samosa which was perfectly fried with a flaky filo dough outside and beautifully seasoned cooked vegetable filling on the inside. It also came with two different and tasty dipping sauces!
For our mains, we each had the lamb vindaloo with a side of rice and garlic butter naan. The lamb was cooked perfectly- it was tender and fell apart at the touch. The vindaloo gravy was wonderfully seasoned and not too hot in spice level- we ordered mild spiciness and were able to appreciate a hint of spice which allowed the seasonings to shine through. The naan was fluffy, perfect for dipping!
The resto was tastefully decorated and had a nice ambience, although we were sadly the only patrons (to no fault of the resto). The staff were all incredibly kind and cooked an incredible meal. I highly recommend enjoying a dinner meal here!!!

I have passed by this restaurant many times and I can’t believe it took me this long to visit, because I have definitely been missing out. The restaurant is clean and has a great atmosphere/vibe. The service was great by all of the employees, and Ravi was very kind and always checking on us to make sure we didn’t need anything else. We had the Masala Chai, Paneer Pakora, and Paneer Tikka Masala. Everything taste amazing and I appreciated the level of spice. Excellent service. I’ll definitely be back.

Amazing experience! We ordered chole bhature and chai, and everything tasted really good and fresh. The service was super good the guy who served us was very polite and friendly. This little place is awesome! I went with family at lunch on a Sunday and the staff was super gracious, with quick friendly service. My partner and I are vegan while the rest of our family are meat eaters, and our waiter was really great at recommending vegan dishes and what meat dishes are the best. The food was extremely yummy! Mistakenly, I thought the portions looked small at first, but I was so wrong, it was super filling!! Yum!! We loved it. The restaurant was very clean, and not loud so our family could easily chat without issue. Great little spot, absolutely recommend!

Very friendly service ! I saw that this was a new spot for me and wanted to try it out. The location is very clean and a nice atmosphere for group settings. My family and I had the pleasure of dining at Tandoori Flame twice during our recent trip to Yosemite – once on our way from San Francisco and again on our return. Both times we stopped for lunch, and both times the food was absolutely incredible!
We were able to try a variety of dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The vegetable paneer biryani, aalu paratha, and paneer tikka masala were all delicious. For the meat lovers, the achari chicken masala was a standout. We also really enjoyed the tandoori roti and the flavorful gobi Manchurian. To top it all off, the complimentary gulab jamun was the perfect sweet ending.
I can confidently say that Tandoori Flame’s food is among the best we’ve ever had. The quality and taste are truly exceptional. This place is definitely a gem and a highly recommended stop if you’re in the Modesto area or traveling to/from Yosemite!
