Social Profile:

We are an American cider-house, unique to Leelanau County Michigan. Our specialty is cider; working with local apple growers, we press and ferment ciders that highlight the flavor of our local apples. There are many options in our lineup, from dry to sweet, fruit flavored and barrel aged. We also offer locally made cheese, house made pickled eggs, sodas, and the camaraderie of our local community. Tandem Ciders is a place you can stay and enjoy, where you can taste the local flavor, and immerse yourself in the County. Cheers!

We stopped by Tandem Ciders on a Monday afternoon, so it was very quiet and relaxing. The gentleman working was incredibly helpful and gave us great recommendations while we were deciding what to try.

A six 3 oz tasting was $15, which felt very reasonable and was a great way to sample several options. Our favorite was still the Smackintosh, and we ended up buying four cans for $15 to take with us.

Overall, it was a great stop with excellent cider and friendly service. We would definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the Traverse City area!

Perfect humble cidery. Very relaxed with a small bar but lots of cider options!! We tried 12 different ciders for just $30 with the flights and sat outside in the sun. The ciders were delicious & our #1 was Sunny Day.

Delicious ciders and lovely staff. They had sweet and savory crepes for dinner on weekends when we visited. They were delicious and clearly made with love. We’ll do what we can to make it back again soon!

Very pleasant staff who are well informed on every aspect of the product and the process. Had a nice flight with a range of dry to sweet. Great outdoor seating away from the noise.

Such a quaint, secluded location! The outdoor space is fun and cozy. The Ciders and service are great as well!

I don’t recommend ordering a snack there though. Our $8 cheese plate had about 6 Ritz crackers, 1/8 of an apple sliced thin, and 1/4 cup of cheese (which was delicious). It was supposed to come with pickles, but they were very busy and we didn’t want to bother.

Tandem Ciders is one of our all time favorite places on the Leelanau Peninsula. The vibe is laid back and friendly and on any given day, you can find tourists and locals alike, enjoying some delicious ciders. I especially like that many of their ciders are on the drier-side, but they do have enough variety for every taste. My personal favorites are Green Man and Smackintosh.

One of the traditions we have when visiting Tandem is having a pickled egg. On our first visit, we spied the jar behind the bar and asked about it. Having never had one, we took the bartender’s recommendation and tried one. We were surprised at how much we liked it!

The indoor seating is cozy. We usually visit in the fall and love when we can sit outside. In the past, there were some fire pits outside to enjoy, but we didn’t see them out this past trip. To be honest, the outdoor space could use a little decluttering and sprucing up, but that is literally the only negative thing I could say about this wonderful place.

We’ve been coming here for years and it’s one of our favorite spots! Lots of outdoor space available in both summer and winter. Solo stoves are near each table in winter. My favorite is the smackintosh but you can’t go wrong!

Danielle and other staff member were very helpful and informative and hospitable. Didn’t like that they didn’t have indoor seating in the cold weather, but I certainly understand space restrictions and growing pains. Nice place to visit and good, mostly non-flavored, genuine hard apple ciders.

I’m not a cider guy. Not because I don’t like cider, but because I don’t have regular access to Tandem. Most everything I can get is tanic acid/ sugar slurry, but Tandem is APPLE cider. You taste apples, some apples you’ve never met before. I make an annual bike ride up the Leelanau trail, up and over a horrible hill, to sit on their beautiful property and drink Tandem cider for hours. It’s my reward for the effort. I recommend you put in the time and effort to visit, you will not regret it
