I got the spicy chicken katsu, it tasted really good the the chicken was perfectly seasoned, the spice was good, and the breading was perfect. This would’ve been a 5 star food but it had coleslaw I should’ve said no coleslaw. Still a really great place, would recommend.

The sandwiches here are flavorful and delicious! We got a Pork Katsu with miso sauce and Chicken with Egg salad Sando, a side of fries and cup of sake. The pork was crisp and juicy with a delicious miso sauce, crispy cabbage and perfectly toasted milk bread. The chicken and egg was equally delicious. Crisp and juicy chicken with a creamy yuzu egg salad, crispy cabbage and again perfectly toasted milk bread. The fries were seasoned perfectly and crisp. I loved that I could get a cute cup of sake to have with my meal and take the little cup home.
This is a great place to grab lunch while shopping or just because you’re hungry.

The sandos are bomb! Strawberry matcha was pretty yummy too. Great patio, would recommend coming and sitting outside. They have heaters for outside if its a little chilly

Waited 30 minutes for our food and were just then told they were out of pork. We subbed chicken. Food came another 15 min later. Sandwich wasn’t even cut in half and half no sauce. We were sharing the sandwich. Also got a Ceasar. It had no dressing and no croutons. Definitely won’t be returning. It’s so expensive for such poorly made food. At least the fries were good.

Fantastic first experience! Ordered the spicy tofu sandwich. The bread was soft, tofu was seasoned well and fries were hot and fresh. Clean space with wonderfully friendly staff. Can’t wait to return to try the egg salad and more.

Good little spot for coffee to matcha to some lunch. Can get busy at times. The honey cake is huge I think it’s ment for like 4-5 people I don’t know seems massive.

My wife and I are headed to Japan later this year; it’ll be her first time, and I cannot wait to show all the wonderful sights, sounds and, of course, tastes! As a “preview of coming attractions”, we stopped in for lunch at Tanaka while in the area; similarly, she had never had a katsu sando before, wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but was eager to find out.

As she surprised me a bit and went with the chicken sando (which I WAS going to order) with a side of hot sauce, I switched to the potato korokke instead. Each of them was utterly incredible: in the case of the chicken, a delicious crispy fried chicken fillet with kewpie mayo and katsu sauce (which, for those who do not know, tastes like a BBQ soy sauce) and cabbage is pretty much to die for; as for the korokke, it’s definitely softer (the potato/veggie “innards” of the croquette are creamy and smooth) punches above its weight with a tangy dressing drizzled over the cabbage. We couldn’t decide upon our favorite among the two, and repeatedly shared bites of each. I would order either of them again (or both) in a heartbeat!

Service was prompt, friendly, and extremely polite! The décor within is minimalist in true Japanese style, and benefits from natural light and gorgeous surroundings: at least during our visit, it was quiet, serene, peaceful…and when paired with the perfect weather, was like a silent oasis sequestered away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the shopping arcade.

Even more than she was before, Tanaka has made my wife more excited for our trip to Japan, thanks to its authenticity (and deliciousness)! If you can’t make it yourself to Japan, Tanaka will get you half way there, flavor-wise.

This is a great spot for a delicious lunch. I got the classic chicken katsu sandwich combo with fries and green tea. I appreciate that the drink options went beyond soda! The sandwich was cooked to perfection, I will be a return customer forever because I’m now addicted to the curry dipping sauce. The pastry case was tempting and the bread pudding is calling my name – I’ll try that on my next visit!

Beautiful aesthetics can’t hide subpar execution. Despite the sleek interior and well-designed menu, the kitchen fails to deliver on authenticity. The katsu sauce is one-dimensional and lacks the complexity of a house-made glaze. The cabbage is clunky rather than finely shredded, and the bread is a far cry from true shokupan—it’s crumbly and lacks that signature pillowy ‘pull.’ It’s a great space for a photo, but a disappointing stop for a meal.

This place is delicious! We got the pulled pork Sandwich and egg salad sandwich and both were devoured. Their sweet bakery items are also delicious the curry bun was savory and scrumptious. The donuts are perfectly baked and just right on sweetness simple and delicious. The fruit sando is also yummy. Highly recommend. Friendly staff as well.
