After attending the famous Wandee Culinary Art School in Bangkok, I have been working as a private chef and in Tana Thai, one of Bedford’s most famous restaurants. Passionate about Thai cuisine, I have always been eager for everyone to discover its beauty. Every time I cook, I do it as if I cook for my own family, using only the very best ingredients and lots of love. I hope that through the traditional and delicious Thai dishes I create, you too will discover a whole new world of flavours and nutrition.

Very tasty food. Soup 6/10. Rice item 9/10 it was with beef, and stir fry with cashew nuts and chicken 10/10. There was traditional Thai decos and halloween decos too.. all nice. Quality service and support. We will come back again.

Fantastic restaurant. I’ve been here a few times and the food is always amazing. The atmosphere and decor is also perfect. They also do some live music nights which are also super fun. I will be back again.

We visited Tana Lounge for the first time, having previously eaten at their old location on numerous occasions. On first impressions, it’s a lot bigger, louder, and you can clearly see a big investment has been made. We were seated at our table and ordered drinks. Unfortunately, the Shiraz had sold out, so we opted for a lovely Merlot. We ordered our food and enjoyed the starters. The mains arrived; however, there had been some confusion, and there was a 4/5 minute wait until my wife’s dish was ready. Again, both mains were lovely. Mine packed some heat and delivered the 3 chilli rating. So, food-wise, there were no complaints; service was efficient. My only criticism is that it didn’t feel like a Thai restaurant; it felt very impersonal and had lost its character we loved. That’s a personal opinion. I’d happily visit again but with a group of friends, but not on a date night.

Decent to be fair
The food was mixed quality. I had the corn fritters to start and these seemed to be very overcooked. They were hard and really crispy. Not what I was expecting.
I had Pad Thai with prawn and that tasted great. Unusual presentation with a single large lettuce leaf on the plate.

Edit: The restaurant gave a fair response and apologised. We will give them another go at some point and adjust the review based on that experience.
We booked over 1 month in advanced for valentines evening. We arrived on time and were seated quickly. From that point on they completely forgot about us. We sat waiting to order just a drink for over 20 mins. The final straw was when a couple that came in after we did got served before us. Absolutely horrendous service so we left. I don’t even think they noticed that we left. Completely ruined our night , won’t be visiting again.

Having been to Thailand on multiple occasions we were so very surprised and delighted to have found such an authentic Thai restaurant. We tried multiple dishes which were all superb. Staff attentive and friendly, nothing was too much bother. Lastly a thank you to the very kind manager who assisted us with our elderly parents.

It’s been a while without me writing a review and problably for good reasons, I think reviewing for the sake of it does not make sense to me, I need to feel that the place deserves it. And this one meritoriously deserved one and a very positive one.
My wife decided to book a table at this restaurant for her birthday, as she read very good reviews and we have an appreciation for asian cuisine.
Ok, no more beating around the bush, the experience was really pleasing, the service is very good and attentive, the atmosphere is relaxing and soothing and the food was delicious.
Some reviewers mention how hot the food is but I did not have any issues with it, perhaps because I love spices and gochujamg is one of my favourite condiments, so bear that in mind. My wife found it hotter than I did but she enjoyed it pretty much as well.
Price is adequate and portions are right on point.
We’ll be back for more.

We decided to go here just on the off chance of having a good Thai dinner. It didn’t disappoint. The dining room is large and airy and maybe a little on the cool side. The service was quick and attentive. The food was excellent and well presented. Very tasty, very Thai. Highly recommended.
