It’s a cute, quaint spot, and I really wanted to like it. I don’t enjoy giving local places low ratings, so I’m being generous with three stars. That said, the prices felt high for the portion sizes. The brisket was dry, the tacos were okay but lacked flavor, and the tea tasted sour. Service was also very slow, especially considering I was the only customer in the restaurant at the time. I might give it another shot but it won’t be soon.

My husband and I each had a BBQ sandwich plate. I got fried and he got Mac n cheese. The food was sooo disappointing to say the least. I haven’t had bad food like this in a while. The bbq had way too much liquid smoke, the soda was flat, the Mac n cheese was kraft box and the fries were large chunks of half cooked potatoes. The fries were not cooked thoroughly at all. Our waitress was kind but never once asked us how the food was. Just drop off and then the check. We will not be going back and recommend other much better bbq places in Athens.

BBQ pork was decent, but the sides were horrendous. The most bland potato salad I’ve ever encountered. Mac & cheese was straight out of a box. Definitely not worth the high price. I’ll stick with Jim ‘N Nick’s

This place was a JOKE!! I paid 65.00 for a rack of ribs not including sides or a drink. Never asked if we needed anything, horrible service! We were the only two in the place. Then to be scolded about buying the last 65.00 rack of ribs from an employee. Don’t waste your time or money, go buy a Pig!

A couple of us girls in the dental field went here for lunch. The brisket tacos were to die for. The meat had no fat in it which is big for me. The sauces are amazing. Slaw is different and so good. I met the owner So sweet. Nice atmosphere. We will definitely go back once a week. Nice to have something different in watkinsville for lunch. Kudos to yall.

Maybe the worst pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever had, definitely the worst mac & cheese I’ve ever had. Pork was fatty, dry, bland, and not pulled nearly enough. Sauce was too watery. I honestly thought they left the cheese off of my mac until I found a few orange crumbs mixed in with the noodles. I haven’t had the brisket that everyone seems to like, but I can confidently tell you to stay away from the pulled pork

The meats are awesome tender, the ribs fell right off the bones. The cowboy beans were good needed some salt. The Collards have great favor. Mac and cheese looked and taste like box. Coleslaw was ok I don’t like peppers in slaw, my opinion. Texas toast would be much better than plain white bread.

Brisket anything is hands down the way to go. My favorites are:
The brisket, egg, and cheese burrito – try it with the green sauce.
The brisket burger. It’s a monster with 2 patties with tons of melted cheddar.
Not a regular menu item, but try the fajitas with smoked brisket for the meat. Homemade tortillas, peppers and onions with the incredible brisket is an awesome combination. Again, try with the green sauce.
