I LOVED IT. Very beautiful scenery the entire place is incredibly beautiful. The food was amazing! I had the mofongo con pollo, my boyfriend had the bistec, and my son had arroz con habichuelas y pollo. Very kind people who know both English and Spanish this is family owned restaurant. 100% recommended. 🙂

I had such a great experience at Tamarindo in Simpsonville! I ordered the skirt steak with rice and beans, and it was cooked perfectly — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The rice and beans were fresh and seasoned just right, the perfect comfort pairing for the steak.
I also enjoyed a cocktail that was spot-on — balanced, refreshing, and beautifully presented. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal.
Definitely recommend Tamarindo if you’re looking for a place with delicious food, great drinks, and a welcoming vibe. I’ll be back! The service was absolutely fantastic

What an amazing restaurant! It was decorated really cool…My kids loved it. The food was amazing. Highly recommend the fish sandwich. . and Simon was the best server ever. can’t wait to come back! I can’t believe we haven’t noticed this place after being here for a year already- great job everyone!

Despite the restaurant being in a great location, having beautiful decor, and being very eye-catching for photos and videos, the restaurant falls short in service and food. I’ve visited the restaurant twice, and the first time, they took almost two hours between giving us the menu, taking our order, and bringing out the food. The chicharrón was chewy like gum, the food was lukewarm, and the flavor was completely absent. For us Hispanics who know what good Dominican and Puerto Rican food should taste like, their food is nothing special and doesn’t even come close to our flavors.
On my second visit, I was shocked to go on a Friday night, the night before Valentine’s Day, and see the place completely empty. There were only two tables occupied. While we were waiting to be seated, one of the couples was leaving, and the woman told us, “Get ready to wait.” I asked her what happened, and she said they arrived at 7 and only just got their food at 9—and it was cold!!! Oh my God, exactly what happened to us the first time, which I thought was just an isolated incident.
At that moment, the waitress came over to seat us, and we told her we had changed our plans. As we were leaving, we were talking about what happened when the other couple that was in the restaurant came out and told us the exact same thing as the first couple. It was truly unbelievable to see Caucasian and African American couples seeking out our flavors and having such a terrible experience.

I had the shrimp mofongo and the appetizer empanadas. The empanada dough was light and crispy and delicious. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly and helpful. We’ll be back!

My husband and I had made a reservation for Valentine’s Day with the hopes of a nice dinner. The restaurant itself was lovely, but the management was lacking. We had our food ordered, but it was almost an hour before we got our first appetizer, and then the rest of our meal was late in arriving. While our waitress did her best there unfortunately wasn’t much she could do regarding our dishes. You would think that on a holiday as busy as Valentine’s Day, more management in the kitchen would have been in place.

Longest wait ever. After 2h, I received one drink and still waiting for the food. Obviously one waitress for 8 tables and also managing the bar, won’t work. The waitress is super friendly and I’m surprised she hasn’t lost it yet but again … I just can judge what my experience is and that’s unfortunately not good. Last but not least … the food is absolutely amazing.
