Had amazing time at Tamarind Indian restaurant this Sunday for there ramadam kareen special buffet for ramadan.amazing food lots of different starters & mains to try. They was all very good. Tamarind Indian Restaurant is a real gem in Newport. The food is consistently delicious, full of authentic flavours, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was perfectly spiced and clearly made with fresh ingredients. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, ideal for both family meals and special occasions. Easily one of the best Indian restaurants on the Isle of Wight — highly recommended!

I would say we’re regular customers as in at least once a month. Tonight, 17/01/2026 didn’t go to plan and despite a call to the restaurant it wasn’t resolved. We ordered butter chicken with “extra” chicken at a cost of £2 more, along with lamb saag, nann and rice. We received 6 pieces of chicken. Total cost £32. They actually asked us to take a picture of the chicken. When we complained they didn’t offer anything aside from going back to the restaurant to pick up 2 pieces of chicken. 2 pieces for £2! Abysmal customer service to say the least.

Do yourself a favour and book a table here! We have come from London on a holiday to the Isle of Wight and fancied a curry… we found this on Google as it was only 10 minutes from where we are staying. Food was delicious, service was quick and pleasant and prices were reasonable. We reccomend the Brittania Curry! There’s a reason this place has won awards, we will most certainly be back.
