Had an amazing breakfast experience!

I started with the steak special, and it was absolutely delicious. I also had a waffle topped with fresh blueberries and strawberries (wish I had taken a photo—it looked as good as it tasted!).

The service was exceptional. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and even shared that the restaurant uses fresh, local farm products, which made the meal feel even more special.

I’ll definitely be coming back with my family and friends. Highly recommend!

If you’re into cozy, old-school diners with hearty homemade meals, this place is definitely worth a visit. Their breakfasts are the real deal! Everything tastes freshly made and the portions are more than generous (come hungry!) I had the waffles with fresh strawberries and they were perfectly golden with just the right crisp, topped with juicy, sweet strawberries that actually tasted like fruit, not the usual bland stuff you sometimes get.

This place should have higher reviews! I thought the prices looked a little high when first looking at the menu but you get what you pay for. The colossal breakfast was delicious and everything was such high quality. Freshly roasted diced potatoes, real maple syrup, nice thick smoky bacon, etc. Great service too. I have pretty high breakfast standards and I highly recommend!!

If you are in Lake George this is a must stop for breakfast. The Colossal Breakfast is delicious and more than filling! Choice of two pancakes or French toast, sausage or Canadian Bacon, two eggs cooked to your liking, and home fries. It’s a hopping spot expect a little wait, ours was 10-15 minutes. Service was slow but I enjoyed the Adirondack atmosphere and breakfast was delicious! I believe they also sell their own syrup and French toast came with a cinnamon butter that added a unique twist.

I dont post bad reviews unless its totally unacceptable. This place was a bust.

2 people for breakfast. No beverages $60 with tip. Charged $30 instead of $18.50 for colossal breakfast bc we ordered home fries. Cold. Returned. Plus an additional $3.50 we have no idea. But we got tired of waiting to ask. So we left. Nothing was exceptional with the exception of the rye toast.

There’s a place a block or so across the street, around the corner that people were waiting to be seated. I’ll try that the next time in the area.

The food here was great and the service was quick! The staff were very friendly. We both had the colossal breakfast and were very impressed with how great everything was, especially the bacon. Would definitely recommend this place as a breakfast stop if you’re in the area!

Prices are high. $18 for French toast is high. Small 4 inch pancakes tasted old. Cinnamon butter tasted old like it was left uncovered in refrigerator since last weekend. Boyfriend ordered the colossal which is just a normal 2 eggs, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes. Nothing special. No special colossal size, in fact quite the opposite. Portions are small. A side of bacon is 2 tough old pieces. Ordered 1 blueberry pancake which had about 4 blueberries in it. Coffee was good. Atmosphere is nice but door was propped open so it was cold. Nice fire place but no fire. Has to be better places in the area! Last resort breakfast here,

The atmosphere was awesome and lady serving us was nice. Price of food was ridiculous and the taste was not good. $18 for pancakes and $5 for two burnt pieces of bacon.

I had a great breakfast at this restaurant! The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, just the right amount of sweetness. The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked — soft and creamy, just the way I like them. The portions were generous, and everything was fresh and flavorful. It’s a perfect spot to start your day. Highly recommend for a tasty and satisfying breakfast!

Skip the powdered eggs at the boring same-old buffets and choose the Tamarack Inn for breakfast!!

From the first step, you feel like you’re back in old Lake George, in a log cabin, photos and decor emphasizing old life in the Adirondack Mountains. The food is delicious and the specials are excellent (hello, candied bacon!!!). The owner goes weekly up to a local farm to collect all their ingredients, so when they say farm fresh, they actually mean FARM FRESH.
Its not a massive menu; this is eggs, omelettes, pancakes, malt waffles (so good!!), French toast and a few other specialty items. Short and sweet, simple and yummy. The prices are comparable to other breakfast spots, but the food quality is FAR superior.

When you want to sit and enjoy a relaxing a cup of coffee in a quiet rustic atmosphere, this is the spot. So if you’re looking for the best cup of coffee around, choose the Tamarack Inn… and I’m talking – “Man, this is a GREAT cup of coffee” and “I cant wait to go back and get that coffee!” and “I have to write a glowing review to stress how good this coffee is” – kinda coffee.

The restaurant is not huge, so space is limited and depending on the time you get here and the day of the week, you can wait anywhere from 5 to 30mins for a table, but trust it’s worth it. The parking lot is small, so my recommendation is to make the walk if you’re staying in the local lodgings. Waitstaff is friendly and accommodating (we love Emily!❤️). I’ve never had a bad experience with staff.

I’ve been coming to LG annually for 40 years. I’ve seen so many restaurants come and go, sometimes after just only one season… but the Tamarack still stands. Like the spirit of old Lake George, it endures the test of time, echoing the sentiment of the lake itself.
