Tamalitos is truly a hidden gem in San Antonio. One of the best tamales in town—easy 9/10. I’ve tried tamales at many places, but this one really stands out. The tamales were amazing, the enchiladas were delicious, and the beef nachos were top notch. Honestly, every dish we ordered was mouth-melting good.
The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, which makes the whole experience even better. I kept wondering how I missed this place all these days.
Service took a little while and there was some confusion with the dishes… a bit of “surprise mode” from the kitchen. But when the food tastes this good, you forgive everything.
Just improve the service speed and order flow a bit and this place will be unbeatable. I’ll definitely be coming back.

It was a good size neighborhood restaurant, plenty of parking. I ordered Pozole Verde with shredded chicke, it was so good. My husband ordered Fajita Plate and he said it was okay.
They only has 1 waitress/cashier, so the service was kinda slow but she did her best. We forget to ask her name.

This place is beautiful. Very nice atmosphere and music. The service outstanding! The food was meh. Everything was ok but nothing stood out. Had the pozole Verde the meat was so tender and the pozole cooked to perfection. The taste was ok but nothing to rave about. My friend had the fideo loco he only took one bite and was like um no. He ordered nachos those were good I had a few. Chips and salsa were good as well. This place is a Just…

Not that big of a restaurant but we were seated rather quickly. We had the menudo a barbacoa taco and of course we ordered the pork Tamales. I thought the menudo needed a tad bit more of flavor. The barbacoa was very tasteful. The tamales were full of meat and tasted delicious. I will definitely be back to try more food items. The cucumber lemonade was very refreshing as well.

bought a dozen of tamales and they were so big and they were moist and had a lot of flavor totally worth the price. They’re bean and cheese tacos were so good. Their other food looked delicious as well. I’m looking forward to going back and trying more things. The servers were very nice as well thank you for a delicious meal. It was awesome!

The food here is very good. I had Migas a la Mexicana for breakfast and came back for lunch. The food and flavors were great. They use the easy melt cheese which I prefer to cheddar less greasy on the food and plate. One disadvantage is that parking is tight and the inside is a little small. But the foof and flavors are huge. If you look at the photo of the tortillas. Well just an FYI those are homemade corn not flour. By looking at it I thought they brought me flour but no it was on fact corn tortillas. Very light and fluffy. I have dinned here multiple times. Looking for Mexican food try here your going to enjoy the food. If this help you please give it a thumbs-up.

This place shocked me. I was expecting another typical Tex Mex restaurant before seeing a game.
The service was great. The chicken fajita was filling and flavorful. They came with great sauces to top them. The fajitas were freshly made. Don’t sleep on this place if you’re seeing a Missions game. Eat here instead of paying for overpriced mediocre stadium food.

Small, quiet and quaint Mexican restaurant with food that tastes homemade, straight from a house kitchen rather than anything prepared in bulk. We polished off everything we could fit in our stomachs and savored every bite along the way. The carne / steak in the quesadilla was a little tough to chew but had so much flavor, no one minded in the least. Overall, the food was so good, the family didn’t even mind the lack of soda fountain drinks… which is saying something with our crew.
Update: The family already considered this a 5-star experience, but on our most recent visit, I tried the Tamalito Burger and don’t want anything else. I hadn’t had tamales on a hamburger before, but I can’t imagine it always tastes as delicious as it did here. Every bite was glorious!

Great little neighborhood gem located right across from Nelson Wolf stadium. Food is tasty and service has been great. Favorite dish so far is the Tamalitos plate, two delicious tamales, one cheese enchilada, rice, and beans.
