If you’re looking for a tamale that will truly fill you up without emptying your wallet, this is an excellent option. Here are the details:
The Size: Extra points! These aren’t those skinny, diet-sized tamales. They have a very generous portion of masa and filling, perfect for a complete breakfast.
The Price: This is the best part. You really get a lot of value for your money; it’s one of the most competitively priced places in the area.
The Flavor: This is where you need to be careful. The masa has a delicious, homemade taste, but they tend to be a little heavy-handed with the salt. If you have a sensitive palate, you might find it a bit too salty, although for many, that extra “kick” is what gives them their unique character.

I want to start off by saying that I used to buy tamales from this place very often a few years back because they were amazing. Recently went back after a year and have to say that they have down graded so much with their tamales on taste, quality and price. My tamales were ALL small, lacked flavor and had barely any meat inside. On top of getting poor quality food, they were extremely over priced. I don’t mind paying the money if the food is worth it, but in this case these tamales were disappointing. Definitely would not go back and would suggest other people to really think about it before stepping foot in that place.

In the conversation for the best tamales in Chicago, ( probably in the top 3 ). I drive from Des Plaines Illinois to get these once a quarter, I buy them in bulk and freeze them. When they are defrosted, they still taste as fresh as day one. These are made with care and perfection. It’s all homeade and this place does it right. Price is a little high, but not too bad to be honest, especially for the quality you get.
I do pass several other places to get here and have absolutely no regrets what so ever. The place is small, but clean, it’s next to a body shop, typical Chicago find, if you know you know..
The tamales are !!!!! Just try and you will see.

I always go and I have good experiences but just today I went @12pm. Bought the biggest cup of champurrado, 1 red pork dozen 6 green tamales, 1 pineapple 1 corn and 1 guava. I spent almost $60. I don’t mind paying for good food but today eating the green tamales I found 4 long strands of hair . This is my go to stop but not sure if I’ll go back. If there’s any way I can get a refund at least on the green tamales I would very much appreciate it. Otherwise we were left unsatisfied.

The Tamales were AMAZING and fulfilling. My favorite were the green chicken ones. I bought 3 dozen to feed some coworkers impacted by the shutdown and it fed about 15 people.
Would recommend.

I travel from Hoffman Estates to get tamales twice a month.
Worth the time.
We also get them once a week in the office.
Love them.
The tacos are also great. My grand daughter eats them on the way home.

First I’d like to say that there tamales are very tasty but I recently bought some and found hard pieces of black medal and a wire inside my tamale meat it was sooo disgusting! I also found what looks like a dead insect stuck to the tamale leaf. I will NEVER eat there again!!!

Overpriced with no flavor anymore . We used to come here before they had great flavor now it’s disappointing everything you get. We got different types and none of our tamales had much flavor. Very bland taste overall. The rajas tamales are a joke they only add one slice of chile and little meat se pasan. Should be called tamal de raja not rajaS

We’ve been getting tamales from here for years, have always been good. My husband ordered two horchatas today and the taste was completely off. It tasted nothing like horchata and had a horrible after taste. I opened the lid and the color was more of a brownish color than the normal horchata color.
