I haven’t tried anything else but the red tamales. They are so much better than they were a couple years ago. I love the ratio of meat and masa in them. Not too much masa not too much meat. They’re evenly made. I had green salsa with my tamales and it was so good, creamy and spicy.

We came to this location because it is the closest to my house. Unfortunately, we couldn’t eat any tamales since the leaves of the tamales were completely contaminated with mold. This place is a sorry excuse for restaurant. As it is a Mexican custom on February 2nd (dia de la candelaria) I thought I would give this place a try to bring tamales for my family. I bought $45 worth of tamales. I had never bought such awful tamales. Every single tamal I bought had less than a tablespoon of salsa and chicken. The tamal was about 98% dough. If this was not bad enough they also used vegetable oil instead of the traditional lard. I am guessing to further cut their costs, they have decided to sell these terrible tamales to overcharge for them. I refuse to believe that any honest and dignified owner could be okay with selling $45 worth of tamales for cooked dough.

This place used to be excellent in the past few months and years. Tamales tasted so good and the different dishes they offer as well.

Now a days everything changed, food don’t taste the same,
The meat tastes and feels like beef jerky.
tamales are mushy and not packed well to take out.

Tamales at Doña Tere used to ve very good, I start going to Bellaire location and over the time learned about there other stores. Today @ Long Point, bought one dozen without hesitation just to find out they were VERY dry, no sauce on sight, although dough was tasty, in order to enjoy, we needed to add al least 2- 3 tablespoons of sauce on top
