Really good restaurant. The food was very highly quality, and very well plated. The flavors were all good and prices are fairly reasonable. I really enjoyed the truffle fries and the steak wontons. I had the Mt. Everest burger, it wasn’t my favorite taste wise, but the quality and ingredients were still top notch. My only minor complaint with the atmosphere is they could use a little sound mitigation. It’s kinda noisy in there for the size when busy. Great overall and will be a repeat customer.

Upon the recommendation of the Omaha Food Lovers Facebook group, I decided to take my husband here on a Wednesday night. I agree with the group-delicious food, upbeat vibe and spot-on service. The Brussels were perfectly seasoned and the Mt. Fuji mushroom risotto was a great flavor combination. The dish also had pork belly which I’d never tried. The meat was cooked perfectly, and I’m guessing the fat on it is standard for pork belly. I’ve also had many different Cabernet varieties and the least expensive Trim was so smooth. We’ll be back!

Nice atmosphere. Food was pretty good. Crispy Brussels was amazing! I had buffalo Mac and cheese. It was very good, but without buffalo chicken was missing something a little. Still overall very good. A third had seafood risotto…sorry no pic. It was very good but not a 5. Rice slightly underdone. Still all very good. I would definitely go back.

We’ve been visiting Talus Spirits & Sustenance since the day they opened, and we have never had a bad experience. Not once. The food and cocktails are truly out of this world, and every visit reminds us why this is our favorite spot.

My family lives in Texas, and every time they come to town, Talus is the one restaurant they insist on going to—it’s that good. The owner is an amazing person, and you can feel the care and passion that goes into every detail, from the service to the menu.

One of the coolest things about Talus is that the menu changes quarterly, so every visit feels like a brand-new experience while still maintaining the incredible quality we’ve come to expect. We’ve never had a bad meal here, and we always leave excited to come back.

If you’re looking for exceptional food, creative cocktails, and a place that consistently delivers an unforgettable experience, Talus is it.

I came here with a group from work and was pleasantly delighted. The staff was friendly, cocktails were complex and tasty, and the food was savory. I will definitely come here again!

Update January 2025: I tried their Vesuvius Flatbread which is an odd but addictive combination of sweet, savory and a little spicy. The soup – a Cajun Chicken almost bisque and the side Caesar Salad were both delicious. The Hazelnut Salmon was accompanied by the perfect sides. The Talus Burger was excellent as well. The Bread Pudding dessert was only warm on the outside and cold in the middle which was the only miss of the night. Overall, I still definitely recommend this restaurant.

Update March 2025:
Their Happy Hour Croquettes appetizer was great alone and over the top with the sauce. The Crispy Fish Sandwich was massive (and delicious) and the Great Smoky Burger makes a scrumptious mess to rival a Reuben. Jack was an excellent server too!

This place is the best place to get amazing service, value, and flavor. Great ambiance. The service is next level. If you’ve never been, they will help you with suggestions and ideas of what you might like. The food is all amazing. I’ve been so many times. The menu is a great variety and can modified for allergies. The patio is the best. Great cocktails. I think this is one of the only places I’ll go back to. Call for reservation for seating. It gets busy. Take out options too. Too many things I love to mention all. You’ll love anything you order. The wine and beer dinners are the most fun.

Came for our anniversary and everything was perfect! Unique drinks and great flavor combinations on our meals. Server was the perfect amount of attentive and gave us a free dessert when another table left before getting it. Will definitely be back!

Samantha was our waitress. She did a great job. The food was amazing. I had the turkey melt. It was good but I think the ciabatta role would have held up better..just my thoughts. Great place. A big thank you to the ladies at the front who seated us earlier than our reservation.

Some friends were moving out of town and we wanted to talk them out for a special dinner to say our goodbyes. None of us had been to Talus and it and been on my list of places to go for awhile.

We arrived 20 mins before our reservation and were able to get a table out on their patio. If the weather supports it, I’d highly suggest the patio, as the view is beautiful and they have heaters for the chilly days/nights.

The group ordered the Cranberry Mules and Smoked Old Fashion. Both were very flavorful and a second round was ordered shortly after.

We started with their Crispy Brussels Sprouts (forgot to get a picture). They were nice and crispy and the cheese and balsamic vinegar gave them a nice added flavor. Plenty for the four of us to start the meal.

For the main course, my wife and my friend’s wife ordered the Mt. Fuji Mushroom Risotto. It was very flavorful and the Fried Pork Belly add a great touch. My friend ordered the Seafood Risotto, it was just as flavorful and had plenty of seafood in it. My favorite between the two was the Mt Fuji Mushroom Risotto and I would highly recommend this for any first time visitors.

I ordered the Talus Meatloaf, and it was probably the best meatloaf I’ve ever had. It was super moist, yet had a nice crispy edge to it. The chipotle demi sauce added a great flavor profile to the meal as well.

For desert, we ordered the Old Fashion Bread Pudding, it was amazing as well and there was plenty for all 4 of us to satisfy our sweet tooth.

Overall, I’d give Talus a 10/10, would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely be back again very soon.

My hubby and I tried this place on a whim. SO good! The risotto with pork belly was seriously amazing, perfect consistency. loved the brussel sprouts, perfectly cooked and the balsamic reduction made them even better. Mushroom puffs were a first for us, they were very tasty. Best when dipped in the accompanying sauce.
And finally, this isn’t your mother’s meatloaf! Has a slight kick to it, green beans and mashed potatoes were also delicious. We will definitely go here again for a date night to try out some of their crab dishes and dessert. Highly recommend!
