We had the most wonderful server, I believe her name was Susan. She put up with our crazy (and polite) party. The food was absolutely sublime. You did have to wait a bit but the view was great so we didn’t mind it. If you love crab dip, I highly recommend.

Delicious food and waitress was friendly and attentive. Restaurant is right on the water with fishing pier out back. You can dress however you want here, dress up or casual, and you’ll fit in. Sometimes can be long lines to get in, but well worth the wait. The building itself could use a refresher, but I also feel like a great seafood place looks like this place though too.

Was told an hour wait, got in within 5 minutes. Got a lovely booth with a great view of the water. Our waitress was absolutely amazing, super attentive and kind to our family. The food was incredible, the seafood tasted fresh and the crab cakes were some of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend!

yeah this place is amazing. every time i go here, the water is always quality and the service speed is fair. yes, the water quality is important. it is usually packed but if you get there about 3:45 you can get a table when they start seating around 4. i got the grill special and it was really good! the steak was amazingly cooked and the shrimp and crab were exquisite. overall such a great place and i will come here whenever im in the area.

Waited 1.5 hrs for dinner. Parking lot was full, had to circled twice to find a spot. There’s a boardwalk in the back with a bar while you wait. Beautiful view of the bay. Wife ordered grilled mahi-mahi & crab cake. I had the special surf-n-turf: 6 oz filet mignon & boiled lobster stuffed with crabmeat. Steak was tender & cooked perfectly. Lobster was sweat. Mahi-mahi was so fresh. Crabcake was good. The Tales of Whales salad was delicious, on the sweet side with the raspberry ranch dressing. Portions are generous, you won’t go hungry. This place is packed every single night for good reason. 2 thumbs up!

I went here with my wife. Everything was excellent. We were told a 30 min wait which only turned out to be 10. Beautiful waiting area outside in the back with a bar. Food came out very fast which I wondered if it would affect the quality. It did not disappoint. Everything was great. The service was great. Our waitress was great. This very well may have become my favorite restaurant of all time. We were planning to go back probably tomorrow evening. I can’t say enough about this place. It’s a beautiful restaurant. They also seem to have one of the best systems for handling large crowds and getting folks seated and getting their food that I’ve ever seen

Great service tonight. Waited just a little while. We were offered seating in the bar area for a shorter wait time and it was plenty nice enough for us. Crab dip was good, but not as good as others we have had in OBX. Steamed shrimp were 10/10! Stuffed lobster was yummy, well cooked. The clams were crispy, huge portion. Hushpuppies and coleslaw were solid. The fries were very good. Got a couple desserts to take home and none really blew us away. Would come back.

What an amazing restaurant! Go early as there are high wait times because it is THAT good! The nice thing is if there is a wait there’s an outdoor bar and pier with seating and live music. The surf and turf was unbelievable and was on special for such a great deal! The lobster bisque and she crab soup were also delicious. Staff was extremely friendly!

10/10 food, ambiance, service, EVERYTHING!! Two of us dined here Wednesday 5/28 around 7:30 pm. We walked in & were sat immediately & with a phenomenal view of the water. This was our first time here and we were very impressed right off the bat. Our server (Tyler I believe) was very professional and explained everything thoroughly. Our two drinks were delicious (Orange crush & mango hurricane), and my she crab soup was one of the best I’ve ever had. We both appreciated all the variety and flexibility with the menu. Our entrees were wonderful and the desserts were divineeeeee. Tyler didn’t let our glasses get below half way, and was checking on us the perfect amount. I will recommend this restaurant to many people! Can’t wait to come back.

Arrived early from Duck allowing for traffic issues and got on the waiting list for the early (4 – 5pm) seating. Promptly seated. Waiting time was then ninety minutes as it filled from those waiting. Tyler was our personable attentive server answering all questions and anticipating all our needs. Ceviche was a Special and was loved. The hush puppies were large and a must always. Lobster Bisque was tasty and meaty. Entrees were special and varied from Crab Imperial , Broiled Scallops and Crab and Shrimp Au Gratin to Ribs and Chicken and Ribs. Wait time for drinks, appetizers and entrees was negligible particularly considering the crowd being served. The view of the Albemarle Sound next to our booth was wonderful. A great dining experience as always.
