Beautiful building and a great location. The coffee is excellent—I had the iced bourbon vanilla latte and it was fantastic! Breakfast items are solid as well; the chorizo burrito was flavorful and the perfect size for fueling up without being too heavy.

The only drawback is the noise level. The constant banging against the sink to knock out the espresso puck can be pretty jarring, especially if you’re hoping for a more relaxed vibe.

Overall, a great spot for high-quality coffee and a good bite—just be prepared for some background noise.

Clean modern establishment with top notch coffee and pleasant outdoor seating. Friendly staff prepared excellent Americano, cappuccino and cortado which exuded strong java notes with rich crema that lingers on the palate for cap and cortado. My son thoroughly enjoyed his cold brew and he’s a fanatic. DIL raved about her latte and both are regular patrons residing in Evanston. This has been my 3rd visit across 18 months and quality has been excellent each time. Tala roasts their own beans which is a big plus for me and likely the source of such consistent quality. Super easy parking. Tala all your friends about this cafe and give yourself the special java experience you deserve.

Tala Coffee Roasters is a nice coffee/study joint. The espresso is good, and there are plenty of unique drink options to choose from. The staff is friendly and welcoming, which adds to the great atmosphere.

The seating is ample, with a nice outdoor space that’s perfect for relaxing. It’s a great place to stop and chill for a bit. It would be nice if they were open later to enjoy more of that cozy vibe.

House roasted beans available to purchase in the store. Baristas made 3 delicious lattes for us.
Other locations in Highwood and Libertyville. Try them all. You won’t be disappointed.

I have to admit that this is a very nice cafe with excellent coffee. I spent a nice time here in a very interesting interior. The coffee is excellent here and the sweets are delicious. Although this cafe is not cheap, it is worth going here and tasting.

Come for the coffee but stay for the baristas! Tala is one of my favorite coffee places ever. It has become a weekly ritual for my son and me. They have everything from quality nitro cold brew and quality pour-overs to creative seasonal drinks. They make the best mocha IMO but the “Bone Breaker” is another great one.

Each of the baristas is so friendly and knowledgable about coffee. They remember you, ask how you’re doing, and make you feel very welcome. Myra, Michael, and Cammy (sp?) are great human beings and keep us coming back every week. I can’t imagine going anywhere else in Winnetka.

Impossible to find parking on a Thursday morning. Service was alright, nothing special. Cashier had her back turned to us when we walked in and wasn’t that friendly. The food was especially bad — I got a blueberry muffin while my partner had the breakfast burrito. The burrito had basically nothing but chorizo in it and was tiny, while the muffin was awfully dense and unlike any other muffin I’ve had before.

At least the coffee was good, so if you’re only coming for coffee I’d recommend it.

It was super crowded inside on a Thursday morning and I expect as the weather gets colder it’ll be even more crowded since people won’t be able to utilize the seating outdoors. The interior is a bit too modern and bland for my taste considering there are some other cozier, cuter coffee shops nearby. Won’t be returning.

Tala is my go-to cafe to study and hang out. The baristas are always super friendly and sometimes even remember my favorite order! Delicious “igloolongs” and banana-cinnamon muffins.
