Our first time here and it was amazing! The restaurant and bathrooms are very clean. The food was really good! They have really good specials from 11 to 3pm. Big portions. Lots of cute details to the food too; Little added fruit on sushi plates and little umbrellas and decorations!!! We will definitely be back!

Definitely more suited for takeout than dine-in which is strange because they have a very nice dining area. If you do choose to eat there know that all the dishware is disposable plastic – they do use good sturdy plates but it’s a bit of a disservice to their beautifully plated sushi to be served on plastic.
Service is good as long as they’re not busy. The food is decent for the cost with some highs and some lows.
The Krab Don was fantastic and presented adorably. The spicy tuna roll had much needed tempura crunch inside which gives it a better texture than just minced tuna.
The crunchy salmon roll tasted a little fishy and the shrimp in the shrimp and scallop hibachi was way overcooked though I give them kudos on the scallop not being overcooked.
Hibachi veggies, noodles, miso and clear soups, and house salad all standard, nothing great but decent.
It’s very much a place you go to for value rather than quality. I’d equate the hibachi to what you’d get at the mall – decent and filling but nothing special.

I have been homesick for tasty food since arriving to I recently visited Takumi Sushi Hibachi in DeLand and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The quality and generous portion sizes of the food were excellent, especially considering the very reasonable pricing.
The restaurant is very clean, casual, and no-frills in its table settings, yet features modern, updated décor. Although orders are placed at the counter, the food is promptly brought to your table when dining in. Most importantly, neither the food nor the service is compromised in any way.

This place is awesome !! Food is amazing!! I ordered 2 California rolls, miso soup, and a side order of fried rice. This is hands down the best hibachi in Deland. The environment is new and clean. It even has a sushi bar !! The prices are very fair !! I highly recommend Takumi.

I ordered hibachi chicken & shrimp and a Mexican bubble roll for takeout. Sushi was great!! Hibachi was flavored the same as Fuji Express, which was disappointing to me (I don’t really care for Fujiexpress). It wasn’t bad at all, just isn’t my preference for hibachi flavored food.

I am soooo glad they opened here in DeLand. I have to admit that I don’t care for the sushi place that is in the same shopping center as Publix as their sauces and rice can be hit or miss. I use to go to Fuji Express on Plymouth as they are always so friendly as their white sauce is excellent but the cost has gotten higher. Now Takumi is my favorite casual sushi in Deland because their rolls, sauces and rice taste so fresh And you can’t beat their lunch special prices on rolls. I now can eat sushi any time I want as it’s affordable – and everything I have had both yesterday at their opening and today- is fresh and delicious.

The food here is delicious and super affordable with pretty large portions. We can share the hibachi lunch and the sushi is really good. The service is always quick and friendly. We eat here at least a couple times a week. Highly recommend!
