Giving them 2 stars because I understand that they are still working things out. My wife, my son and I went here for dinner tonight. Today was their grand opening. We were promptly seated and our waitress and service were great. The issue was with the food. We started with the tempura asparagus, which was a good appetizer. Good flavor and something unique. I had the Dan’s 49 sushi roll. The roll looked very plain, nothing like what’s pictured on their website, and it had no flavor to it. My wife had the Susan sushi roll. Im not a big fan of fried rolls, but it’s lightly fried and not overbearing. We split the firecracker shrimp entree. The shrimp were lukewarm with a soggy coating but barely any sauce on them. They were also flavorless. The rice was hard, over cooked and the salad was a stale mix of lettuce, carrot, onion and corn. We ended up not finishing it. My son had the chicken tenders and fries and honestly was the best part of the meal. The chicken was fresh and the fries were seasoned perfectly. Totaled about $87 after tip, which for what we got is pretty standard. Biggest issue was the flavor. If we’re paying this price for food I would expect better flavor and quality. As previously stated it’s Day One, so they will hopefully improve with time. We didn’t complain to any of the staff because at the end of the day we were curious to try it and wanted to give them a fair shot. We will probably wait some time before we go back.

Had an absolutely great experience at Taco Sushi in Spartanburg. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in—friendly, attentive, and fast without feeling rushed.
The food was phenomenal. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It’s such a cool concept combining tacos and sushi, and they absolutely nail it.
Another big plus is the beer selection. Being able to enjoy a cold RJ Rockers beer with the meal just makes the whole experience even better—great local brew to go with great food.
If you’re in Spartanburg and looking for something a little different with amazing flavor and great service, Taco Sushi is definitely worth a stop. We’ll absolutely be back!
