Takosushi Review

THIS CONVERGENCE OF TACOS AND SUSHI IS INSANE! Don’t let the name fool you—at first glance, you might think “Takosushi” is strictly Japanese, but it’s actually a genius play on taco and sushi—and yes, you really can have both.

We tried the Crazy Roll and loaded up on steak, chicken, and shrimp tacos. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The food alone deserves a return visit.

What truly set our experience apart was our amazing waitress, Caroline. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming. My daughter is an incoming freshman, and Caroline went above and beyond—offering helpful advice, tips on college life, and answering all of her questions with so much kindness and patience. She made our daughter feel excited and at ease about starting this new chapter.

The restaurant itself was spotless, the vibe was relaxed, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and variety.

Caroline made the whole visit a 10+. We’ll definitely be back!

I did not take photos but the plating was beautiful. The dishes were clean, as well as the place itself. The sushi was fresh and cold, the soup came out hot; based on the dish it was to perfection. They have a great squid salad as well. The prices are fair. They were very friendly, not pushy about anything, checked up a good amount but not too much, no addins on water(preffered), sour limes, and sweet lemons. I will be going here again.

The restaurant is incredibly stingy. This was my first time ordering from Uber Eats, and I spent over $30 but still didn’t feel full — amazing. Every item had a very small portion. Not only were the ingredients mediocre, but the portions were tiny as well. By far the stingiest restaurant. Avoid ordering from them.

Sushi was very good. The pork nachos didn’t seem to have enough protein for a $15 plate.

Great food! Giving this place 4 stars based on the food alone. Sushi and apps are great! But…. if you’re ordering it to-go, make sure you have at least an hour to waste waiting on your food. I’ve had to-go from here twice and both times took FOREVER! Almost like they didnt even care to have my food ready. Luckily, they re-made one of the apps bc I asked them to. Only reason I asked is bc I looked at it on the counter for 45 minutes while I waited on the sushi.

I had my first & rather awful experience at this place today. A waste of 33$ for a tiny taco with 2 shreds of steak, miso soup & avocado sushi (Yasai) that.. did NOT have any avocado in it. I noticed it too late, there was no point in driving back & the call did not go through. I never thought I would actually have hard times eating sushi: dry, soulless, tasteless, THE SADDEST VEGGIE SUSHI I’VE TRIED (I got same feedback for the “steak taco” from my husband as well). On the pictures I took you can see some avocado mash on top that I’ve added MYSELF from MY fridge, to save the situation, but it was of course not the same… Miso soup was the best out of it all, but is too little & plain for 6$. I would recommend authentic places that actually include avocado in their avocado sushi.

I am absolutely disgusted by the behavior I experienced today at TakoSushi on Main Street, a restaurant I have visited multiple times and supported consistently.

After leaving the restaurant, the general manager, Jeff, chased me and my guest down to our car to confront us about allegedly leaving a $0.35 tip. Before we could even respond or correct him, he abruptly turned around and scurried back inside the restaurant.

We followed him back in to understand what on earth justified such unprofessional behavior, only to find that Jeff completely avoided the situation and left the bartender to do damage control for a confrontation he created.

In reality, our table tipped well over 20% per person. The issue was entirely due to staff error: the bartender looked at someone else’s ticket that was not part of our party and incorrectly assumed no tip was left, despite the fact that she had already kept a cash tip from one person in our group.

This was a miserable, humiliating, and completely unnecessary experience. There is absolutely no scenario in which it is appropriate or acceptable for a general manager to chase customers to their car over a perceived tipping issue. Even if no tip had been left, which is not the case, this behavior is outrageous and wildly unprofessional.

I am beyond disappointed and would appreciate contact from upper management or ownership regarding this incident. A general manager should demonstrate emotional control, professionalism, and leadership; not impulsive, confrontational behavior that embarrasses paying customers.

This experience has seriously damaged my trust in this establishment.

We sat at the bar and had to have the seats and bar wiped off. It took a while for the bartender to acknowledge us which I had to ask a question first after that she was very friendly. It took a long time for our food and when we got it the food was warm not hot. It wasn’t that busy. We ordered the shrimp stir fry and the chicken stir fry. There were more vegetables than anything. I was not impressed.

My colleague warned me of the horrible service, small portions and long wait before I went over after peak hours for lunch. But I ventured across the street at 2:15 to order one sushi roll that came with 6 small pieces and left at 3:03 for take out with 3 ppl waiting for takeout. Could have driven to Publix and got this for $5 Wednesdays!!! Has gone downhill and I’m so disappointed.

I have only eaten here once and the food was nice and hot. Not to rant and rave about but for a quick lunch meal that was only 15 bucks I would return and order it again. The wings came out nice and hot and the fried rice was good. I sat at the bar and bartender was helpful and kind. My mocktail was ok could have been better but still enjoyable.
