First, there are two seating areas…one with a bar and table service and the other for counter ordering and food at tables…so no alcohol displays in the one side.. great for separately seating families and kids vs adults and drinking if such is important to you. We sat on the table service side and that is shown i the pics. Food was served quickly, the place was clean, servers and management were present and observant and friendly. The Enchiladas duo I had was great….shredded chicken very good and chopped beef amazing. Definitely enjoyed our food and visit. Highly recommended.

Tried this for lunch for the first time Friday 1/16 They were pretty busy but the line moved very quickly to order. They had free chips and salsa. All the employees I encountered were very friendly and ready to help. The food was delicious. I ordered shrimp fajita nachos, which I really enjoyed. The small guacamole is still quite a large portion which was nice. The large colorful wall mural and Mexican music created a nice atmosphere.
Very clean restrooms as well.

Good food with a fast-casual feel. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table, which keeps things moving. They do bring out chips and salsa as a starter. Even without traditional waitstaff, someone did come around to offer drink refills, which was appreciated. Inside, there’s a bar area with high-top tables, plus booths and regular tables on the other side. The place feels small, but it was busy when we visited on a Tuesday evening. Portions were very generous; the monster burrito was easily the largest we’ve seen at any restaurant. We would visit again.

Definitely recommended going, we will absolutely be back! (Old Steak N’ Shake building in SoCo on S. Lindbergh and Mueller Rd.)
The food was terrific….we got an enchilada, steak street taco, mexican rice and a 20oz. house margarita…plus the house made tortilla chips, 2 tubs of salsa and 3 Bud Lights…lol…very reasonably priced, bill was only $40
One side is the bar area with tall tables and a bartender/servers. The other side is a walk up counter to place your order and then a server will bring it out to your table.
My complaint, the rice could have had a little more seasoning but otherwise we had a great experience!

We were excited that Takeiros finally opened and were eager to try it. We were immediately struck by their odd ordering system. We were greeted at the door, seated with menus, then instructed to order at the counter and give our table number to the order taker. While we waited for our food, the table next to us had their order taken at the table. Chips and salsa were offered quickly. The food came almost too quickly. My friend had ordered the biria pizza and received it in no time. It was naan bread, a sweet sauce, cheese and meat/peppers. She said it was terrible. I had biria nachos. The biria was tender, but the flavor was mostly salty. The guys ordered standard Mexican fare, a chimichanga, a taco and enchilada. They were good but didn’t stand out from other restaurants. They have a good drink selection at the self serve counter with several Mexican offerings (horchata, tamarind, hibiscus tea) along side the soda dispensers. Overall, in a city packed with Mexican restaurants, Takeiros doesn’t stand out food-wise and has an inconsistent ordering system.

We had a good friend tell us some very positive things about this new mexican restaurant , Takeiros Mex-Grill . Restaurant was very clean and had some really cool murals and signage inside . The chips and salsa were really good with just a little kick . We had Mexican street corn for an appetizer , quite tasty . Main dishes were Shrimp Fajita along with the Pollo Loco , both dishes being top shelf quality . Did not have to wait long to get our meals , good service . Recommend this place .

Love this place! Has the feel of a fast food restaurant with the walk up counter to order, but still get excellent service! Servers still walk around the dining area and bring your food & drinks to you. Food was excellent & fast. I got the chimichanga 10/10. Queso is also delicious. Drinks are amazing too, I got a Pina colada.
Would recommend this place to everyone!

Before I get to the food, let’s talk about the outstanding service, organized operation, and hospitality. Wanted to try them out and ordered take-out. The online order said it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived exactly 20 minutes later. It was packed, almost no parking available, and I walked in to a line waiting to be seated. Despite the hectic scene, a lady was greeting everyone at the door and telling them that they will be seated shortly. She then greeted me and I informed her of my take out order. She walked me straight to the pickup counter and I provided my name. 20 seconds later I am handed my nicely organized bag with my receipt/name on it. We’re now at the 22 minute mark as I walk out the door. Despite being completely packed with a line, they flawlessly executed my order on time and had a great hospitality system for keeping everyone in line informed and quickly addressing individuals with take-out orders. Food was delicious, fantastic, good value and portions. Glad to see them thriving and looking forward to making them a frequent dining consideration.

Our first visit to our teenage handout Steak ‘n Shake as the newly remodeled building now Takeiros Mex-Food. We’re not a fan of standing in line to order our meal like a fast food restaurant. At least the food is brought to your table. This is a high priced Mexican restaurant, you shouldn’t be standing in line and ordering food from an overhead monitor. The price of an average meal is $17.00 plus drinks. You would expect to sit down and be greeted by a waiter at these prices. The atmosphere is nice with painted murals adorning the walls. The restaurant is split in half, the left side is louder with a large bar and bar height seating. The right side is quieter and features standard tables and chairs. The staff was friendly and visited often asking if everything was good. The chips were tasty, but the house salsa was bland. I asked for a bottle of hot sauce to give life to the salsa, but was brought a spicy salsa instead which was hotter but had an odd flavor. I mixed the two salsas together and created a flavorful salsa. My wife ordered a cheese quesadilla and I ordered the burrito al-carbon, I had wanted an enchilada, but they are not on the menu! The main entrees were just average tasting, but the refried beans were excellent. The next time we have a taste for Mexican food, we’ll visit San Jose or El-Agave where the food is tastier. Both offer enchiladas and people take your order at the table.
