First off, we are super thankful Taj Palace was open on December-25 when no other place of choice was open at Yakima. Taj Palace was clean, and cozy. The buffet lineup was one of the cleanest I’ve seen. Every item was fresh – we are vegetarians and had ample option but no paneer in the buffet (#firstworldproblems)
The lady/hostess at the front was super friendly, warm, and helpful! Honestly she reminded me of an indian actress (Varalaxmi Sarathkumar).
We did the buffet and also ordered Paneer Tikka Masala. The buffet was 9/10 , food was fresh and tasty . Our hostess made sure we had enough fresh naans . She was also gracious enough to let us feed our 3 year old from our buffet.
The paneer tikka masala was 10/10 – we ordered spicy and we got spicy and flavorful!
Highly recommend! Great choice if you are driving through. Excellent choice even if you are not driving through!

I ordered chicken biryani from this restaurant a few days ago. And that’s one of the worst biryani I’ve ever had. I told them I’d like it spicy. They just mixed the rice with lot and lots of chilli paste. This is not even biryani. I couldn’t even eat it. This is disgusting. Will never order from this restaurant again. I’ll not recommend at all.

Very beautiful clean restaurant. We tried the butter chicken , marinated chicken in a creamy sweet sauce, with fluffy naan and savory rice. We had the fish pakora appetizer. I ordered it as my dinner but it arrived way earlier than the butter chicken so we shared it as an appetizer. The fish was good, a light white fish that was fresh and not “fishy” at all. The breading was a little tamer than pakora I have had in other places. Not much spice at all. I loved the tamarind dipping sauce. The coriander sauce was fresh and minty. We finished our meal with Kulfi. It was full of nuts and creamy yet light. We shared everything and had pleanty of food for 2 of us. Everything was very good.

Absolutely delicious and authentic Indian food. One of the best Indian food in the region. Super fresh naan and customizable spice levels in all the dishes. All the flavors were spot on. Great and quick service. Perfectly cooked and flavored rice that came with the entree. Friendly staff. Homemade pistachio ice cream desert is highly recommended.

The food is surprisingly good.
I visited from Redmond and found its food at par with the very good ones in Redmond.
The vegetarian fare is good. The chicken curry was very authentic (medium spicy).

Awesome Indian restaurant food in the middle of the mountains ( about 150 miles from Seattle ).

Food was good but I was charged a few dollars more than the printed menu price (for rack of lamb). I was told too bad, that’s the new price. I have never had any place not honor their posted prices. I told the server I would have to take it out of his tip then and he said he was fine with that. I can’t believe management would do such a thing to their servers.

Stopped in, hoping for really good Indian food. Read the previous reviews and decided to take a chance. Had the 5 star reviews confirmed through my brother who lived in India for a while, with recommendation for the mango lassi smoothie.
I did ask for the 4/5-star spice rating, but somehow only got the 2/5-star.
The reviews did not lie, however. Very good food for an average price. Well worth it!
I will be going again the next time I’m in Yakima!
