Taj offers the ultimate experience in Indian cuisine. When you enter, you are greeted by the white cloth cover tables where you will be enchanted by the flavorful dishes that come with the most wonderful, mouth watering garlic bread. This food is second to none amongst the Indian restaurants in the Carolinas, perhaps in the United States. My friend and I have been to quite a few Indian places, and none compare to Taj. Prepare to be amazed. You might be seated at a table or at a booth, but the food is alway top choice.

I’m happy to have this restaurant nearby in Morganton for Indian food. I miss Indian food and home and since I have to travel 1 and half hour to Charlotte I found this gem. The dishes were flavorful and authentic, with great service and a beautiful Indian-inspired atmosphere. The rice was slightly undercooked, but overall everything else was excellent and worth visiting.

The Tikka Masala is life changing and they hands down have the best sweet tea we’ve ever had from anywhere other then home! The rice was perfect in texture and taste. The samosas were huge and yummy and the perfect crispness in the pastry. And the garlic Naan was fresh garlic. You could tell all the food was made with so much love.
The service was beyond fantastic and personable.
We’ll have to take a trip to NC again just for this restaurant!!

Delicious! We went there for lunch and tried a little of everything. The chai was creamy and spicy. The shrimp curry was flavorful and full of large shrimp. The chili paneer and veggie samosas were delectable! The lamb was tender and succulent. Our server was prompt and helpful. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I recently moved from Charlotte and have had such a tough time finding a decent Indian place. We discovered this place and it was sooo good!
My go to is their Chicken Saag and my husband loves their masala.
I would say to use a level 2 spice level because it really elevates the flavors as opposed to a level 1 spice level.
We are definitely repeat customers!

Went there for dinner. Got the chicken coconut, butter chickens, and chicken vindaloo with garlic naans. Food had great flavor. Order mine with level 5 spicy, and you can really taste the spiciness. All servers were nice and great.

I order take out from Taj at least once a week. The food is always delicious and ready on time. The portions are generous. Everyone I have interacted with at Taj has been friendly and helpful. My mom and brother love it when I bring them food from Taj. It is the best Indian food I have eaten since I was in New Delhi and Mumbai.
